Mind in Vain- Stuck in a lecture

In the redundancy of my thoughts

Many-a times vicious battles are fought.

And, whichever side may win

I am the one who has lost!

My body may be chained

Inside a cell.

Not a way out,

from the bowels of this hell.

But my mind can

Seep through water and in air spin

To reach the flowing brook

And hear the temple bell!

To you, I may seem in deep concentration

My senses at your command in full attention.

But don't be charmed by my sweet reputation

Cause, My mind has already fled your verbal detention!

Still, I sincerely thank you

For all your pain.

For Braving me so far

And teaching for my gain.

But in the end,

Your efforts were in vain

Cause your lecture was dull

And went down the drain!
