Crutches In Life
Crutches In Life
The imagery of an actor, taking a deep drag of a cigarette
Letting out the smoke, along with it the stress
Etched in the mind, dopamine need, the Achilles’ heel of mankind.
A lone being in the company of the bottle
Haunting memories, pressures of life, unbearable throttle
A drink or many, for the time being, comfort any.
Temple rounds, surrender to God
Strife too many in life, leave Him to guard.
Another form of dependence, socially acceptable,
they call it religion but will do for some a glass of gin.
For me my words inexhaustible dopamine source
Don't have to coax, no need to force
In all kinds of moods when life takes its course.
