College Romances

College romances are nothing new,

Boy meets girl and a story brews;

Shy looks exchanged and classes bunked,

Thus, starts a tale that has everyone stumped!

Tea and samosas are now a staple diet,

Canteen managers are slaves to such clients!

Whiling away the time on the lawn,

Sales go rocketing as they are to each other drawing!

Movies in the afternoon after Chinese lunches,

In museums and far-flung gardens, and on the buses;

Holding hands and shivering down there being,

Time just flies and life takes a new meaning!

Classroom gossip they are deaf too,

Quizzical looks from teachers are overlooked too;

Going to college every day now is a given,

The proud parents feel that they are too studies driven!

No thought of future ever intrudes,

“Live in the present” rules these dudes;

Practical things like earning a living,

Take a back seat to stolen kissing!

Living in their own cocooned world,

Queries to their future are far off furled;

Blissfully unaware of the real world around,

Young love birds do everyone astound!

This love is unusual and unique,

As it afflicts only those who are not geeks.

It also comes with its own deadline,

Generally, within three years it is to the flames consigned!
