When It Rained Poems
When It Rained Poems
Initially it was irritating
When everyone began to write.
The newspaper boy announced his poesy first
The shy milkmaid shed her shyness,
Posting daily poem for status.
The physician wrote his
Below every prescription.
The professors were concerned
Established raised alarm bells
It was coming like pandemic
Poems! In every curve and turn a poem
Every bitter gourd had a poem for cover
Which moths brutally reviewed
Of all the people who wrote that year
The beggar wrote the best,
Only he cared not to publish
Having surveyed life
From its close quarters, the street.
