When It Rained Poems
When It Rained Poems
It was bizarre
When everyone began to write.
The newspaper boy announced his poesy first,
The shy milkmaid, shedding shyness
Posted her poems for status.
The physician penned his,
Beneath every prescription.
The professor was concerned,
The established raised alarm,
It was coming like pandemic.
Poems! In every curve and turn a poem,
Every bitter gourd had a poem for cover
Which moths reviewed, taking time.
Of all the people who wrote that year
The beggar wrote the best,
Only he cared not to tell
Having surveyed life
From its close quarters, the street.
