What a Silly Boy was He!
What a Silly Boy was He!
Issy was a silly boy
And such a silly boy was he
At 2 when others would do,
What not, play with others their age
He would sit and grin,
For no reason.
At 5 when others
Would play hide and seek,
He would dream all day,
And forget studies and chores.
At 10 when Mother would ask him,
To go to Market to get bread,
He would sit and dream,
And let the cat drink the whole milk.
At 15 when other used to play,
He used to talk big,
From a little head,
It made boys and girls laugh and cry,
But it never bothered him anyway.
At 20, he was written off,
And asked to push off,
By everyone he knew,
For he was different,
From anyone he knew.
But at 23, he did something different,
From anyone he knew,
And gave us something,
Which we never knew.
He let us know why apples fall?
He gave us why you and I fall?
He gave us what no one else gave
He gave us "gravity",
As we know it today.
Yes "What a silly boy was he"!
For he gave us something
What no one else gave
Yes Issy is still around us,
In our books and in the world
But we know him differently.
Not as Issy,
Yes but as "Isaac Newton".
