A Friend of Mine
A Friend of Mine
I too had a friend,
A long time back,
A knot that took forever to tie,
But it was a long time ago.
We had our fights,
But well,
It was a matter of right!
It never took a minute to mend,
Even when we used to vent,
Our anger and sorrows,
Our loves and hates,
On each other.
I too had a friend,
We used to search for each other,
In crowded crowds,
We used to find each other,
In the crowded crowds
She was a friend,
Like none other,
She was a listener,
To the talker in me.
She gave me the courage,
In my first breakup,
She gave me the Anchor,
In the gale of my Life.
But now she is,
Nowhere to be seen.
But!
Hey, wait a minute,
Let me ask the mirror on the wall,
"Who is my dearest friend of all?"
And I got an Answer back,
"It is none other than you, my dear!
You don't need anyone else,
To validate your likes and dislikes
Your fears and agonies,
You are your own best friend of all!"
