Blast From The Past
Blast From The Past
"Old ties might cross ways"
My horoscope for today says
And paying 0 heed to it I walk out
Of my flat's door,
Seeing someone shift into
The empty apartment beside mine.
Saving me a fall on the stairs,
There stood holding my hand
A gentleman, whom I could recognize
From a km distance.
My ex has shifted to the apartment
Next to mine.
Spooked, I let the logical half take control
In no time, just to remind myself
That coincidences as such are No big deal!
The freaked out half still goes back
Reading the horoscope, and locks me
In my flat for an entire day.
A plathora of cardboard boxes lined up on his gate
Reminded me of the time he moved out
Soon After our ugly breakup.
His face red with anger and his fists clenched...
Crying, sitting on one knee, he apologizes
I avert my eyes!
"I'll track you down as we promised to stay together"
His last words hall in my
mind
And in no time chills run down my spine,
Afterall, He kept his promise.
After months of sweat and tears
When I finally moved on, the past knocked on my door
To turn my life upside down.
Terrified, as I return to my apartment after 11 hours of
Volunteer overtime
I watch him walk out of his Flat
While I still struggle with the key stuck in the door.
He helps me with it
Bidding good night, or did he wish the other way round.
Stressed, I hang my face down.
Bringing my worst Nightmares to life
My doorbell rings at 5
Answering the door, I find a box full of my old clothes
The note on the bottom of which said-
"I had no intent of taking it on purpose
Neither did I track you down
I am over you, I hope you are too
All the best for your new beginnings
And shun down your old endings
The way I did by returning you this
PS: I don't live next door, breathe!"
