Being An Indian Superhero

If I were the Indian Superman

I would be wary of taking off 

From our Indian roads.. 

Imagine taking flight and looking down

Only to see the roads cave in

And birth potholes in loads..

If I were the Indian Batman

I would go night-patrolling on a bike 

And avoid my bat mobile.. 

Imagine being stuck in a traffic jam

As all the bikes swerve past you 

And you remain immobile?

If I were the Indian Spiderman

I would be wary of firing my spider-web

And swinging off building walls..

Imagine old wall plasters and cheap cement

Trying to support my sprightly swings

There is bound to be a few surprise falls..

If I were the Indian Hulk 

I would be wary of the vegetarian crowd

Also maybe a few Hindu groups.. 

Imagine turning into a raging green monster

Only to be advertised as a vegetarian hero

And an incarnation who shrinks and blows up..

If I were the Indian Wonder Woman

I would be wary of the talk shows 

That comment on a women’s dress code..

Imagine fighting anti-social elements

Only to become the topic of a debate 

As to if my dress flowed or showed..
