 pain   flowers   rooted 

Whenever I come across fallen flowers

I utter a silent prayer for the tree

How can any being endure such pain?

No wonder a tree's heart is wooden!

Imagine watering your love all through the year

Only to generously let it go

Because the skies decide to pour

Or because the winds decide to blow..


The pain does not end after one loss

Year after year after year

With every fall arrives a heartbreak..

Whenever I come across fallen flowers

I utter a silent prayer for the tree

The tree that has learnt to love and let go

Rooted by the grave of its loved ones.
