A Silent Goodbye
A Silent Goodbye
A goodbye was for someone else
Whom she needed to attend
The little hand waved with tears in the eye.
She had to stay in
While she was outside.
The home seemed lonely
There was always a wait
That she would be seen though from far in the evening
Entering the gate.
That day seemed long, the eyes seemed dry
There was the clock ticking loud
The baby began to cry.
She was not seen again
There was a silence that stood
The eyes stuck to the clock
The wait long and not understood.
Days passed by, there was only a cry
The girl stood at the door
Waiting for someone who had already said goodbye.
