Murder of A Monk

When Abdul Rasheed Khan turned against his own religion Islam and delivered inflammatory speeches on Prophet Muhammad, the Quran and the Islamic practices, his family and friends were struck with sheer disbelief and then indignation. His parents worried day and night to bring the boy to the right track. Maulanas and the elderly people tried their best to convince him of the beauty of their own religion Islam. But he openly declared that Hinduism was the best religion on earth. The Hindu journalists regularly visited him and as he cruelly openly denounced Islam in their presence their joy and gratification was the deepest and the purest.My  journalist neighbour was brimming over with joy as he was extracting information from the son and his parents for his YouTube channel.It was a very big source of sensational information those days. 

To make matters worse, another young man named Feroz also joined Abdul. The villagers were in a state of turmoil. When the elderly Muslims listened to Abdul's speeches tarnishing the religion of their forefathers,very soon the Hindu people began to adore him as their hero.Abdul read the Geeta and the vedas and remembered them fully. He attended meetings and conferences meant for the promotion of Hinduism. Now death threats were issued to him.

The Hindu monks and sadhus showered praise and admiration on him. Yogi Raghavananda who was carrying rupees eighty lakhs on his head and for whose blood the fundamentalists were crying grew greatly fond of the convert to Hinduism.He also made him learn how to meditate properly.

Everyone mostly Hindus grew enormously fond of the convert Hari Dasa who delivered long inflammatory speeches against Prophet Muhammad. It appeared that Raghavananda and his staunch disciple Hari Dasa were hell bent on eliminating Islam from the surface of Earth.Both the Guru and his disciple held very long conversations very long into the night.

On the night of Shiv Ratri the inmates of the ashram were awakened by a series of gunshots.

Then occurred a loud explosion which partly damaged the interior of the temple where Goddess Durga was seated. When the inmates came out, they were bewildered to see Hari Dasa and another man (Feroz):"Shouting Allahu Akbar. . . Long live Islam. . ! Pakistan Zindabad!"

As Abdul Rasheed Khan and Feroz were armed with deadly weapons, no one dared to go near them. After their departure, the people there found Raghavananda in a pool of blood. His throat had been slit with a sharp weapon.

The police came in the morning to see what had happened. The saviour of Hinduism was gone. A search began to catch the two criminals. Several days passed and it was finally found out for sure that Abdul Rasheed Khan and his accomplice had escaped to Pakistan. One wondered how Rasheed would receive his eighty lakhs as the murderer of Raghavananda.But the jihadist had settled down in Karachi with two bewitching young wives. 

Swami Vividhananda who knew Raghavananda finally said:"I knew something like this would happen. There was a time when there was peace and happiness in the country. All the religious groups were silently observing their religions. India was like a transparent pool of water even though there was mud at its bottom. When the transparent pool was stirred by the so-called guardians of their religions, the results were too hard to bear. Any destructive means to fulfil some noble ends produces the results that now we have had."
