When My Lips Touched Her

It was a week prior to college opening. I and my friends were very excited to go to college. We were well prepared to go to college after the government guidelines allowed us to go to college. We met at café a day before opening of college all of us were excited before going to college after vacation. And I packed my bag and went to sleep with lot of happiness and excitement.

Next morning I woke up on time and started getting ready to go to the college. We all planned and boarded the same train. It was a great journey while going to the college. Seeing new faces near the college gate brought a different smile on our faces and we entered the college.

But between the new faces I saw a face which took away all my attention. Yes, that was the moment when my eyes saw her for the first time. And since then all I wanted was to talk to her.

And luckily she turned out to be my classmate. My words cant describe how happy I was after knowing that she is my classmate. 

I wanted to talk to her but I was very nervous as I didn’t knew how to approach her. But somehow I managed to asked her name, “Divya”, she replied Being new to college both of us didn’t have much friends so with help of my friends I asked her if we could share table during lunch break. And we did. Sharing table with her turned out to be moment of the day for me. Later we returned home together. While travelling we had a very friendly experience and it was the start of our bond. Just like my other friends even Divya joined us in everyday train for going to college. With passing days in college I made many new friends but her face was the one I wanted to see everyday.

I shared this thing with my friends and they asked if I was in love! I didn’t knew what to say! But my smile replied them! Later even I confessed the quality of time I spend with her¸ her talks, her smile, the vibe she brings to me and every other thing in her couldn’t stop me from loving her.

But hiding this from Divya I kept on becoming loyal in my one sided love. It was now 15 days to exam and Divya was not well prepared and so she was tensed. I couldn’t see her in the situation and with some of our common friends arranged group study sessions for her. I didn’t know if it would help her in exam or not but I knew that when we were studying together there came a corner of confidence in her. And such sessions kept going, finally exams were there! We all including Divya were pretty confident and did well in exams.

Post exam it was vacation time when we all went for outings and movies and dinings and many more things. Out of that movie was one of the best moment for me. We went for a horror movie and she was afraid but any how we managed to convince her.

But what happened in theatre was unexpected, unpredictable. When the movie started picking up its climax frightened she kept her hand on me and I was stunned for a minute and later I asked her what was she doing she apologized and took away her hand saying I got afraid and caught your hand. It was a love moment for me so I didn’t mind and stopped her from apologizing and we continued with the movie but as horror scenes approached she did the same thing again but this time I let her hold my hand and since that moment I never forgot that touch. We were back to college but all our friends were busy with other plans so it was only me and she among our friends. And without other friends both of us were getting bored so I asked her if both of us could go for a coffee and she agreed and we went to café near our college and had a nice chat there and I don’t know why but she was looking prettier that day and I couldn’t take off my eyes from her. Even she tried to look at me but there happened eye contact and both of us took away our eyes from each other and had a blushing love smile on our faces and with awkward moment we continued with our coffees.

She finished her coffee and left while I was finishing my coffee.

I took the rose kept in the vase on the table and kept it in my bag before leaving.

When I returned to college she was waiting for me in lobby and we both went to the class. And sat down on our places.

It was a free lecture so she was busy with her stuff while I decided to confess my feelings for her.

I sat down and wrote a letter saying…..

‘Hi Divya, I wasn’t able to gather the guts to tell this you face to face so I am writing this down here in the letter, I still remember the day when I saw you for the first time and we shared quality time with each other like movies, coffee, etc. but I didn’t realize when this turned out to become love! I don’t know if this turns out to be a dream come true or a nightmare but I want you to know what I feel for you, I don’t want to waste your time so I want to know if you do feel the same for me. Whatever your answer is yes or no before we enter college come and meet me near the café at back side of college. If your answer is yes I will be waiting for you with a gift but if your answer is no I will apologize!

After writing this I wrapped it around the rose and silently kept in her bag and we left for returning home. Before Divya got down from train with a nervous voice I said I have something in your bag please do check it!

Before she could question me train left from the station.

I was ready to face both the answers so for a no I prepared a sorry letter and for a yes I had a chocolate and a love poem for her.

I went college next day and was waiting at café for her.

And while waiting for her I ordered a coffee for me and was waiting for her.

Divya came, she was looking more prettier today but I couldn’t make eye contact as I was nervous today. She came asked for an extra straw and started sharing coffee with me! I was shocked and nervous seeing her act. We both shared a lovely couple moment there but I couldn’t celebrate as I still didn’t knew her answer but her act gave me a positive sign! And I asked her did you check your bag? She replied saying,” My dumb lover can’t you understand my answer?! I was waiting for this thing, I am much more happier than you! And let me tell you…. I love you too!” After hearing this I lost myself for a moment and went quiet. She was happy after that reading that letter. To break my silence she caught my hand again and said,” You alright?!” And I replied, “Let me try to describe my happiness in form of my poem!,

You are moment of my day and night...

You are the diamond of my sight...

For winning my heart you have the required might...

Will you be my partner for day and night???

Will you be forever in my sight???”

Listening to the this the tears of love and happiness in her eyes made me fall in love with her once again!

Both of us were looking in each other’s eyes and that was the moment when for the 1st time my lips touched her, suddenly she came up and kissed me for few seconds! I was stunned and happy together! She had a different smile on her face after the kiss and the moments we shared in the café that day made my day!

After that I wasn’t able to focus on anything else all I kept thinking was about both of us and those moments. I was happy as I got my love and the kiss we had made me realize a kiss is not about lust.

For me that kiss was a sincere moment of love between both of us.
