Ego Wins Over Love-Part One

Admissions were done! All students were excited to join their colleges! Dhruv and Misty were 2 of them. But due to an unexpected pandemic opening was getting delayed indefinitely. Students wait to go to college to meet and make new friends. After a long wait finally, government gave permission to institutes to conduct online classes and lectures. Following the orders of the government, all the institutes started online lectures. Lectures started working smoothly.

Just like other students, even students in this class were not much attentive in an online class. All the students used to spend most of the time talking on social media and scrolling through it. Dhruv was one of them. As the time passed Dhruv made many friends talking to them. As the syllabus proceeded they started getting assignments. Assignments were getting assigned from all subjects. Students got busy completing their assignments. While they finished their assignments exams knocked on their doors!

Misty started solving question banks and while doing so she came across a doubt, and to get it cleared she approached Dhruv and Dhruv helped her in getting her doubts solved. This was for the first time when both of them talked. Slowly gradually talking and friendship between them increased. Again after exams, the submissions of assignments began. This time Dhruv was lacking behind in assignments and was tensed regarding his submissions. He couldn’t find assignments to write so he was searching for someone who could send him assignments. Misty got a chance to help him and as she was of a very kind nature she grabbed the chance and helped Dhruv by giving him a pdf of the assignments she wrote. That helped Dhruv in finishing all his assignments on time. Seeing their friendly behaviour of Misty Dhruv started getting attracted to her. So Dhruv started adding more effort to talking to Misty and even Misty showed some interest in talking. As time passed Misty grabbed every opportunity of helping Dhruv and it was continuously increasing his attraction for Misty. After seeing such kind behaviour from Misty Dhruv got excited to meet her in real. They had called all the students for some documents work. Dhruv and Misty also decide to go there. Before that meeting, Dhruv and Misty planned a lot but when they met for the first time, Dhruv got a bit nervous and couldn’t do anything more than a handshake. But the handshake with her was one of the best moments for Dhruv. But as he was nervous this was his only memory of the first meeting. After completing all the work when they went home Dhruv again talked online and shared his regret over being nervous and making less interaction. Misty didn’t bother this much. With passing time and happening talks Dhruv started falling in love with Misty. He tried to convince himself and stop him from doing this but he failed to do so. They continued to talk, Dhruv in hope of love, Misty in hope of deep and never-ending friendship. After stopping himself for a long time he started giving hints to Misty but she didn’t understand his hints. Soon students got notice of offline college starting soon. Dhruv got excited to meet Misty but this time he wanted to meet her as his girlfriend so after a few times while talking Dhruv expressed his feelings for Misty. But Misty didn’t feel the same for him. This made Dhruv sad but he didn’t lose hope and kept trying if could prove his love for Misty. All tries were useless. Seeing his efforts instead of understanding his feelings Misty started ignoring him and acted as if he didn’t exist for him. As per their notice offline college started. Instead of fulfilling his expectations Dhruv met Misty as a stranger. But still, Dhruv tried a lot and put some effort into talking with Misty but of no use. Since the beginning of college in the case of Misty and Dhruv, Misty was in satisfying her ego by not talking to Dhruv and Dhruv was putting all his efforts into talking with Misty.

But nothing worked, they were again at the point where they were before a few months, strangers! Misty’s ego resulted in nothing other than a deep friendship getting ended and a true lover losing faith in true love. Misty was happy living a life having Dhruv as a stranger but Dhruv was very sad and was dying to talk to her! In this case, nothing happened other than EGO winning OVER LOVE!
