AFTER I LOVE YOU

Jay was having very strong feelings for Vani. He loved her from bottom of his heart. Being classmates and friend since a long time Vani was also a bit attached to Jay and they used to spend quality time together inside and outside the college. It was valentine’s week and as per the days Jay gifted Vani. But considering it a friendly gift Vani took them without hesitating. It was now time for the propose day! Jay was excited and nervous before confessing his love for Vani. He called up Vani and asked if they could meet in the garden, without hesitating Vani agreed. And they met up in the garden. Jay was sitting alone on the bench with frowns on his face.

Vani with Jay’s favourite smile approached him and with a cheering voice asked him what the issue was. Jay with a helpless voice replied, “Love!” Love is the issue; Vani didn’t understand it at once and asked him to explain properly. Jay said I love a girl badly and she is very close friend of mine I don’t know how to tell her; I am afraid if I lose her totally. Vani replied, “You are a very good person anyone can ever have in life, I wish I never lose you from my life and we always be there for each other. I don’t know what that girl replies you with but I just want our friendship and bond remains undamaged. Hoping nothing changes between us, go, and tell her whatever you feel for her”

Listening to this Jay was feeling a bit motivated and happy. Without wasting a moment Jay held Vani’s hands and looking in her eyes said, “I Love You”. Vani was shocked for a second and couldn’t answer him. “What?!”, she exclaimed. “Yes! Your presence makes me feel what I need to feel, happy, when you are around, I feel happy and rest of the day either we talk or I miss you, I don’t want to force you so I am leaving decision up to you and promise me even if you don’t love me back you will never leave me.”, Jay replied. “I promise”, saying this Vani left the garden without answering Jay. Vani didn’t express in front of Jay but was happier than Jay because she had been waiting for the day on the other hand Jay was sad because he thought he lost a friend as well.

They didn’t talk for 3 days, and it was not normal between them to not talk for days, “Alright?”, Vani messaged him. “Yes”, he replied. “Doesn’t seem to be, meet me tomorrow at the same place at 2.”, replied Vani. As planned Jay reached. Vani with Jay’s favourite chocolate came up, hugged him, kissed him, and said, “Happy Kiss Day, I Love You Too.” Jay couldn’t control his happiness and hugged Vani long for a minute. After a long hug Vani brought him into his senses from lost world. Jay thanked her for adding one happier chapter to his life. Both went for a lunch date from there.

With passing time, they were falling deeper for each other. But exams soon approached them so both gave each other some time to study and messaged a bit less. By that time friends of both were knowing about their relation. As they were talking less Vani’s friends started manipulating her thoughts and told her Jay changed under the name of exams and now, he no more feels that attachment with you. On the other hand, Jay’s friends were busy telling just like other girls Vani loves her ego more than she loved Jay. At once both didn’t pay attention to friend’s talks, but as per human behaviour once they were told they started thinking more over the point and slowly developed the opinion what their friends were trying to make.

During the exam period they weren’t talking and such manipulations from friends made them fight one day. Both spoke out what they were having in their mind. “You just want me to message you always as if I am the only one who loves and you are just playing with my emotions.”, said Jay. “And you are a true lover…. Why didn’t you message me? If you got someone better go with her, why did you tell me I Love You? Do you think it is enough to say I Love You? If you can’t then please don’t love!”, said Vani. In angry mind both left the room.

It was a week since they didn’t try to clear their misunderstandings. Both were still loving and caring for each other the same but due to some misunderstandings they were not talking.

Couple of weeks later Vani was on her periods and she wasn’t normal, Jay very well used to understand what’s on Vani’s mind. Vani was sleeping with her head down on the bench when Jay went to her with pads and her favourite chocolate. Vani’s heart melted seeing his care, but due to those misunderstandings she asked him, “If you don’t love me why are you doing this? Please don’t fake caring for me. Thank you for these but don’t fake caring.” Jay with a bit anger and a lot of care replied to her, “Who told you I don’t love you? I still love you the same I used to do when I proposed you so don’t keep any misperceptions in your mind. I will never find anyone better than you and even if God sends someone better than you, I will choose you over her.” Listening to this Vani’s heart was melted completely. She cried in happiness and hugged Jay. Later, Jay started cuddling her and she slept peacefully.

Now both decided to confront their friends for creating all the misunderstandings.

First, they went to Jay’s friends and asked them to justify what they told Jay. They were quiet for a minute and then one replied, “We thought this because you weren’t texting him, he used to think only about you the whole day and you never messaged him we thought you are keeping your ego over him, or you are playing with his feelings.” There was no such thought in my mind, I request you don’t do any such things which create misunderstandings between us. Jay’s friends apologized.

Now it was time to clear with Vani’s friends. They went and asked them to justify their opinion. One said, “I saw him with another girl, and I thought it was important for you to know so I told you that….” Stopping her in between Jay said Vani, “Trust me you are the only girl I love.” Vani replied, “Relax I trust you.” Her friend continued and said, “I knew he will deny, and you will trust him blindly that is why I took this picture.” (Shows the picture). “Idiot this is his sister, and they were out for evening walk.”, saying this Vani asked her to apologize to Jay. Before she did Jay stopped, “Saying no need just be careful next time.”

Clearing everything with everyone they both went home.

With few more such incidents and a lot of positivity in their love they were about to complete a year of being together. So, both decided to go for a date.

As planned, they were on a date on Kiss Day. While enjoying their dinner they were discussing some of the best moments during their 1 year of being together. It included going to college together, returning from college together, attending college fests, walks, meet ups, hugs, kisses and most importantly fights which made their bond stronger.

They finished dinner and went for a late night walk where Vani suddenly stopped, held Jay’s hands, and asked him, “Things worsened up between us so badly that you had a strong genuine reason to leave me and find someone else, and seeing your good, kind and caring nature I bet you could have found someone better than me!” Jay with a loving smile and blushing replied, “I think you need to work on your memory strengthening, because I had said earlier and I am saying it again I will never find anyone better than you and even if God sends someone better than you, I will choose you over her. So never ever say this again.” Vani smiled and they were about to continue their walk when Jay stopped her, turned her towards him, held her hands and looking into her eyes he said, “Remember when you said saying I Love You is not enough and you told me if I can’t, I shouldn’t love?” With a bit of guilt Vani replied, “Sorry for those words.” Stopping her, Jay said, “I don’t want you to be guilty or ashamed, I want to convey you my love.”

Vani asked, “In this way? How?” Jay replied, “If I wanted, I could have left you for some fights, but I chose those infinite moments of happiness which your presence gave me. Unlike others I just didn’t love you till I proposed or till you accepted. Might be you didn’t feel loved during this one year, but I tried my best and loved you as much as I could. I don’t think I could show my love but yes me, myself, the lover in me knows how much I love you.

Understanding you, supporting you at your worse, handling you anger, and many such moments were my duties AFTER I LOVE YOU. So, we are never leaving each other. Thank you for being one of the best chapters” Both were having eyes full of tears and love, before both started crying Jay hugged Vani and with a laugh asked Vani to continue the walk, with a big blushing smile and putting her hand in his hand they continued their walk. This was the most romantic walk they had AFTER I LOVE YOU.
