CRUSH ON SENIOR

Parth was a fresher while Risha was student in the same institute since a year. As per the tradition of college 2nd year students were supposed to organize the freshers party and Risha was appointed as head of the organizing team and a team from juniors was formed to help for smooth working of event from both the sides in which Parth was appointed head and being heads of respective teams Parth and Risha used to spend a quality time with each other also during this time they made many friends from each other’s class and had a pretty well group of common friends of mixed juniors and seniors. It was fun for entire group of coordinating hosting such a successful event. 

After the successful event they all were very good friends, so the group used to accompany each other while going back in trains and got some more time to spend together.

Then exams time approached when Parth wasn’t well prepared and was stressed out thinking about the exam, being the class topper, he was under more and more pressure so he couldn’t focus on his preparations so he approached Risha and his other senior friends if they could help him out some imps and explain some important concepts or give some tips. Many of them backed off saying even we aren’t prepared well so we can’t help, only Risha and one more of them stayed back to help Parth. Parth couldn’t grasp a concept instead of repeated explanation when the other friend left saying, now even I must prepare so I’ll leave, only Parth and Risha we left, and Risha stayed back until Parth wasn’t confident enough to give the exam and after few more repetitions Parth was confident and was very much thankful to Risha for all her efforts.

That was the day when Risha became something more than a friend to Parth. Next day he performed well in exam and treated Risha with her favourite chocolate pastry. Accepting the treat Risha said I am always here to help you no matter how much efforts it takes with a big smile on his face and shaking hands he thanked Risha once again.

It was time for fest week where there were multiple events like dancing, sports, etc. All of them were to be performed in a pair of 2. Risha and Parth formed a couple and took part in dance event and secured 2nd prize and after winning they were very happy. Later it was time for sports day event where Risha and Parth with 2 more participated in mixed relay and secure 1st prize. Parth asked Risha to join him on a coffee treat for celebration, both went for a coffee treat. And returned very happily.

Now it was time for college trip to a hill station and entire group decided to go together for the trip even Risha and Parth joined, and all went for the trip. It was a long journey through the bus, all were playing antakshari and Risha wasn’t in a good mood, so she went to the corner seat and tried to sleep, but due to bad road conditions bus was moving up and down so it was continuously hurting Risha’s head when Parth saw it, Parth immediately went to the last seat and asked Risha to sleep over his shoulders, after that Risha had a better sleep and finally when they reached they woke up Risha and went to the room and Risha continued her sleep and others went out for a walk when Parth asked his senior friends if Risha had any boyfriend, with a smile on their face they said no, if you want we can talk to her, with a blushing smile on his face, “No need”. And all started laughing.

Everyone planned for a night out and played S.T.D. and Risha gave dare to one of his friends to tell him a task to telling some truth, friend spoke, “Parth has a crush on you”. Parth denied and Risha said, “We are friends nothing else.” They continued the game and now it was time for Parth to complete the dare, dare given to him was to propose Risha the next day during sightseeing. After few more games all of them went for a short nap and got ready for next day.

Parth and Risha were yet to complete the dare so as soon as bus took the halt friends asked them to complete the task. Parth kneeled down, with a rose in hand he said, “Thank you Risha for being in my life, you might be my senior in academics but you have always been my classmate whenever I needed, you never denied helping me no matter what, I wonder if I can ever find someone better than you to make my life worth living, I neither know your opinion nor I will force you to be mine, all I want you to be aware of my feelings for you, it would be a great pleasure to call you mine and keep you happy. You are probably the one I had been searching for since years, I love you very much, will you be mine?”

As soon as he said this both Risha and Parth were looking in each other’s eyes forgetting it was a dare they both were lost into a lovely moment. Before that moment Parth never thought of dating Risha but while he was saying his words, he realized how good Risha had been to him and it will be a blessing to have Risha as more than a friend. Breaking their silence friend stopped and said, “Okay the dare is completed let’s go ahead.” With a smile of love and blush Parth and Risha looked at each other and walked ahead and enjoyed the day.

Now it was time to return after the trip. While returning home students got a notice regarding final exams, during the journey Risha and Parth were talking when Risha told him she will be going to other city for further studies, Parth was silent for a second and then continued, “All the best, wherever you go I wish you all the success.”

Only 2 months to final exam and Risha was about to leave after that exam. College had arranged a farewell party for senior batch which was to be organized by junior’s team lead by Parth. On the day of event Parth and Risha click many pictures together, both just knew they were making memories for future but only Parth knew he was capturing his love in some pictures. After the event Parth asked Risha to join him on coffee saying it would probably be the last time they could meet alone, and during the last 1 year they spent so many lovely moments together that Risha couldn’t deny him, and they both went on a coffee. And there with a lot of guts Parth took Risha’s hands in his hands and said, “You remember the trip we went for? Where I got the dare of proposing you? I mean each word of that paragraph; I know you don’t love me in the way I do but you are too good and probably the best person I can ever have so the reason behind coming was to make sure you know I genuinely love you.”

With an awkward silence for few minutes Risha left from there and Parth was broken within. Parth’s proposal was the only thought hovering over Risha’s mind and thinking about that she could only think of all the lovely and caring moments they spent with each other. Thinking of those moments even Risha couldn’t stop herself from falling for him and she decided to invite for a coffee date again.

A day for Risha to leave for her further studies and she called up Parth to meet her at the same café, with a rose in her bag she and Parth had a coffee date and talked and refreshed all their memories and while they were about to leave Risha stopped Parth, took the rose out of her bag and said, “I remember all the moments you gave me to cherish thank you for all of them I will never forget you and all what you did for me, it is very heart breaking for me to leave friends and especially you, I hope time will bring us together at some point of life and we will be happier to see each other touching the heights of sky. I know it will be difficult for us to live faraway from each other, yes! For us I am thankful for what all you did, and I love you too probably no one could have treated me better than what you did, may we meet each other at some point of life with the same love for each other, till then have this rose, keep this till the day you love me!”

Parth with a lot of love and happiness accepted the rose, kept it in his pocket and hugged Risha hard and whispered in her ears, “We will soon be together, and the best part will be the next time we come together no one will be able to separate us, I love you.” Ending the hug looking in his eyes with love, affection and some tears of happiness and a whispering sound Risha said, “I love you too”
