The Path to Complete Happiness

There was once a fifteen-year-old girl. She was never happy. She wondered how so many people found happiness in their daily lives, when she couldn't find it her complete life.

Once, while strolling in a garden near her house, she found a butterfly stuck in a flower. Its wings had been pierced by the sharp thorns of the flower, and the more it tried to escape, the deeper its wings got pierced in the thorns.

She gently freed the delicate wings of the thing from the thorns.

And she was surprised when it turned into a fairy.

"My dear child," said the fairy, "you have passed my test. You are a caring human. Ask away, and I shall provide you the thing you crave for the most."

The girl requested, "Please, dear fairy, instruct me on how to attain the path to complete happiness." The fairy said, "Child, listen to my words carefully and do exactly as I say. Only then will you be the happiest person on Earth." The girl nodded and went home with the fairy's words deep in her heart.

No one had been happier. No day went with the girl sad all the time. She was happy, even on her deathbed at eighty-four. Her granddaughter asked her, "How were so happy the whole of your life? Please, tell me your secret."

Her grandmother smiled and said, "A wise person once told me... you will only be happy if make others happy. That's what I've been doing, and I advise you to do the same," and closed her eyes as she drifted into the sleep she would never wake from.
