The Other Side Of Ego Mountain

Today  he was not going to give up.

Climbing this mountain, never easy they say. But he was trying. Trying since many years, and always failing.

It was not that the mountain was too tall. In fact, it was of a normal height, anyone can easily climb it in few hours, but the condition was to go to the other side. It was while climbing down that everyone slipped and lost balance they say.

He woke up early today. And started to climb the mountain with firm steps. It was already daylight. Bright sun rays brought a happy feeling to him. Hours passed and soon he reached to the top ! So the difficult task was coming to an end. 

To reach to the top of Ego mountain, they had warned was never difficult. But take care while going down.

So now remained the easy task of climbing down. And there were not too many steps to go !

He was certain to reach there in no time and find out what lay there.

As he gathered himself and started  the descent, all of a sudden darkness took over. He could not see anything further – not even one step ahead. Exasperated, he sat down, on the slope there.

Interestingly, it happened to him, just the way it happened to everyone on the downhill slope of Ego mountain.

He slipped, and went down sinking till he reached the valley of darkness.

He way lying there for a long time.

Strange ! He had lost his way but all along he was certain to make it. He always thought that he was different than others Ego mountain would not do this to him.

Then he got up, gathered himself and decided that tomorrow he will try again.

Try to go back to brightness from darkness and down the Ego mountain.

Afterall, he had to find out what was there when he conquered the Ego.

This was his life’s mission now.
