Read more Smita Dhruv has studied M.Sc. from Mumbai University. She started writing stories in Gujarati since 2008, mainly for children. This was during her tenure as a Biology teacher at Mahatma Gandhi International School, Ahmedabad. Her stories are published regularly in Divya Bhaskar. In 2010, Gurjar Mudranalaya published her book “Roller-Coaster School “ - a story which was about an imaginary animals’ school, and was published in Bal Bhaskar as a serial. She received Gujarat Sahitya Academy award for this book. After 2010, Smita widened her area of writing, and wrote children’s stories in English for Champak Magazine. Her Gujarati poems and short stories appear on the Pratilipi website, and English poems and short stories on the Story Mirror website. Compilation of her columns in Divya Bhaskar was published by Avanika Prakashan as " ભારતની આઝાદીના અનામી શહીદો " ( “Unsung Heroes of the Indian Freedom Struggle”) book in 2016.
