Stories that Smita Dhruv used to tell her daughters, took form of an actual story “Roller–Coaster School” in Divya Bhaskar, later to be published as a book in 2010 , that received Gujarat Sahitya Academy award. While researching for “ Destination Kakori : 9th August, 1925” (2020), which received " सलिला साहित्य रत्न सम्मान " (2020), Smita came across many freedom fighters’ life stories, which resulted in a column in Divya Bhaskar, later to be published as a book " ભારતની આઝાદીનાં અનામી શહીદો " (“Unsung Heroes of the Indian Freedom Struggle”) (in Gujarati) in 2016. It is well received and reprinted in October, 2020 . The book is published in Hindi in August, 2020.
Smita Dhruv has contributed many children’s stories to Divya Bhaskar and Champak . She writes poems and short stories in Gujarati and English mainly on Storymirror website and was nominated for the “Author of the year “ (2019) award by them. One of her stories is part of an anthology “Kaleidoscope” book published by Storymirror in 2019. She has translated poetry collection " काव्य व्यंजन " by the well-known Hindi author, Smt. Manju ji Mahima into English.
