The Maids (Part 16)

 THE PRINCESS QUARTER

Intro: The king's guard gave the news to the princess maid (Fedia) about the princess marriage in seven night.

GUARD: (Addressing Fedia) The king send a message to let you know that the princess will be married to the King of Glamoth in seven nights.

 FEDIA: I shall relay the message to the princess.

(Princess Beatrice was checking her dress and arranging them on the hanger according to their quality)

FEDIA: (She bows) My Lady 

PRINCESS BEATRICE: Yes Fedia

FEDIA: The king sent a message

PRINCESS BEATRICE: (she jump towards Fedia out of excitement) is that right, what did father say?

FEDIA: (She look sad) the king wants you to prepare to marry the king of Glamoth in seven nights.

PRINCESS BEATRICE: (shocked) I don't understand, why marriage all of a sudden? 

FEDIA: It is to protect the kingdom from war.

PRINCESS BEATRICE: (She raise her voice) And to protect the kingdom from war, I would have to marry a barbarian, no! no way, I shall visit father immediately.

FEDIA: That won't be necessary, the King has refuse audience with you till after your marriage.

(Princess Beatrice sit on her bed quietly and weeps).

PRINCESS BEATRICE: I wish for ones that I'm a maid, I won't have to face this terrible fate.

FEDIA: The life of a maid is not one to admire my Lady.

PRINCESS BEATRICE: Well I'm just an animal cloth in silk then, if I marry Glamoth, I have become one of them

FEDIA: (She calls out her name solemnly) my Lady.

PRINCESS BEATRICE: leave me, I will like to be alone

(Fedia leaves quietly).
