The Great Kimchi Disaster

In the busy streets of Seongju, two best friends, Minho and Soojin, were famous for always getting into trouble. Minho loved food too much, and Soojin loved experiments… which usually ended in disaster.

One day, Minho spotted a huge jar of kimchi at their neighbor’s house. It was the juiciest, spiciest kimchi he had ever seen.

“Soojin!” he whispered, “We have to taste it. Just one bite. No one will notice!”

Soojin narrowed her eyes. “Minho… last time we “tasted” kimchi, we ended up sneezing for three days and painting the walls red with chili juice!”

“Details!” Minho said, already tiptoeing toward the house.

They sneaked in, and Minho grabbed the jar. But as soon as he opened it, the smell was like a spicy tornado. Both of them gagged. Minho tried to take a bite… but the kimchi flew out of the jar like a rocket and hit Soojin in the face.

Soojin slipped on the spilled kimchi, slid across the floor, and accidentally kicked a tray of rice cakes into the neighbor’s cat. The cat leaped onto a shelf… knocking over a vase… which bounced off the wall and landed perfectly on Minho’s head.

The neighbor, Ah-reum, came running. “What on earth is happening?!”

Minho, dripping kimchi juice, tried to explain. “We… we were… taste-testing!”

Soojin, covered in rice cake bits, added, “Yes! We are professional kimchi testers! Very famous! We travel all of Seoul rating kimchi!”

Ah-reum blinked… then burst into laughter. “You two are impossible! But fine, take a small portion—but don’t touch anything else!”

Minho and Soojin ran home, kimchi in hand, triumphant. But just as they sat down to eat, Minho sneezed… and kimchi flew across the room, hitting the ceiling, the lamp, and the family dog.

Soojin groaned. “Why do I even hang out with you?”

Minho shrugged. “Because life without me is boring.”

From that day on, the story of the Great Kimchi Disaster spread through Seongju. Every time someone smelled spicy kimchi, they whispered:

“Watch out! Minho and Soojin might be near!”

Moral: Be careful with delicious things… and with your friends. Sometimes trying to be sneaky is the funniest disaster of all.
