The Fire

It was raining incessantly. The cold engulfed her and she searched for a space of warmth at her home. Perching on the sofa, Kathy laid crouching on to the corner of it and seeped through the window, into the rain inside her. It was dark and deep, the grey clouds hung all over, with the incessant pouring. The already burdened life felt more burdensome and the thought of living in an unkind world brought terror inside. 

Kathy gave herself the time to settle the commotion and to see the ray of light after the downpour. It was for her a time to experience the wholeness of her self, the connectedness she felt with her self and her body. 

She was never ready to give up. Kathy stared outside into the rain and a multitude of emotions went through her, those that tormented her and those that raised fire inside. It was for her to choose, to ponder over...  

She chose the fire.
