A Thought
It was something that Sairah found out recently. Something that was about one of her fears. Till then she ignored it as being natural and never thought of it seriously. But it was now that she pondered over it and got the idea all of a sudden. A moment of realization, it seemed.
Every time, Sairah was not ready to take bath in cold water. Though at times she had to, it was difficult for her. Thinking of it made her nervous and a shiver ran through her body. When she picks up a cup of cold water and pours it over her, her eyes get closed and at that moment Sairah sees a vast ocean with a pit in it. She sees herself standing at the edge at a specific height and looking into that pit in the ocean. The co
lour of water in the pit is darker than outside it. It's dark blue, all she sees is the blue colour, shades of blue and feels the deepness of it. It was not once or twice, but always, with the cold water. And she shuddered whenever it happened.
She realized that all these years she ignored it as something meagre, and how much intensity the problem was for her which she tried to normalize. It was just then, a thought came upon her, which made her at ease. The thought that the recurring images maybe because she might have drowned in the pit in her previous birth. It might have been very cold and her unconscious remembers the coldness which made her tremble always when she pours the cold water over her.
