Often I think of the final day of our life. It should be a pleasant departure leaving no ill feelings. Here is a narration of one of my student's final day.

In my class, there was a boy named Gokul, very simple and modest by nature. He used to take leave often due to his poor health. One fine day, that was the last period and I conducted a test. The very next day when I entered the school I was shocked to hear that Gokul had expired. I was holding his corrected test paper filled with tears.

As we planned to visit his house in the afternoon, I asked my students to share their views about him. Everyone had their chance to speak about him. It really made me surprise because everyone shared his good qualities. Moreover, they said that he never picked a quarrel with anyone in the class. A girl testified that he used to inquire about her at times when she was sick and hadn't taken lunch. His soothing words comforted her. And many more testimonies like this.

Though I was distressed over his death, I thanked the Lord for granting me such a nice student in my class who lived a short yet meaningful life until his last breath.

Dear friends, let's make this vanishing life meaningful by leading a meaningful life.
