The Centipede Tale

I was done; bored, irritated, frustrated use all those words you can to show I was lost. Life has not been easy but this pandemic and lockdown has made it worst, it feels so trapped as if we are not moving, destination is so far.

I had no will to fight with my bosses, with my family or even with myself. I went to the bathroom, the place which you cry and the shower hides your tears, stood there for a while getting drenched in the water.

I looked down and there near the drain was an Centipede , slowly moving forward. How always the powerful trouble the helpless right but yes that day I was irritated enough that I poured a mug of water just so that the Centipede slipped down the drain.

I watched it slide, it turned upside down and it struggled to turn back to normal. After it turned back to normal it stood still till the flow reduced and then again moved ahead. This time I was curious and I poured water again, the same process repeated but this time it stood still for a while longer before it decided to move.

Now for the third time I poured water, it struggled and stood still. I watched it for a while but this time it did something different. Instead of moving ahead, it changed its path and moved towards the wall. It feel four times but managed to climb a little. It stayed there and then continued its journey eventually getting back to the older path.

I came out of the bath, stand on my desk and started writing this story.

The Centipede was like a messenger to me, the water that I poured where all the troubles we are facing but the Centipede knew its destiny and it had the hope to reach there one day. Every time the water pushed the Centipede , it struggled to stand back on its feet and once it got the grip, it waited patiently for the flow to stop, it analyzed the flow, obviously in first attempt it was wrong so for the second time it waited longer, and for the third time tried a different approach.

Problems are bound to come, it depends on our will to reach our destination, on our strength to stand back on our feet amidst the storm and wait patiently till the storm has slowed down. It depends on how we analyze, how we find a new way and how determinate we are to reach our destination.. come what may.
