Surviving Lockdown Day 5
Surviving Lockdown Day 5
This is the 5th day of the countrywide lockdown. Never thought that the entire nation will be forced in self-exile to fight the invisible enemy! Countrymen are doing their best to stay indoors, bearing the brunt of boredom, anxiety, fear, dwindling stocks of daily needs, postponed exams, no playtime outdoors for kids et all. I hope the crisis gets over sooner than later.
We are not getting our supplies of the newspaper now s days, without which there was no start to the day. Browsing the morning newspaper over a cup of hot tea was a daily ritual to start the day. Now we have to do with news on mobile and on television which continues to show dreaded news day in and day out. The government has done well to start the telecast of the legendary serial Ramayana once again to keep the folks busy and believing in God in these tough times.
On WhatsApp we are daily getting videos of how animals are coming out of their wilderness into our urban areas, the dolphins appearing in the canals of Venice, seen also at the coast near Marine Drive Mumbai, elephants roaming the streets of Kerala, sparrows making nests in lonely parked vehicles and many more. Perhaps human beings had tried to grab the entire earth for themselves ignoring the very minimum requirements of the animals. Nature has temporarily taken things in her hands to show the all intelligent man his place in the scheme of things. Hope better sense prevails once the crisis is over and we stop exploring mother nature in the name of endless development.
