Lockdown Day 26

Dear Diary,

Today is the twenty-sixth day of the countrywide lockdown to prevent the spread of Corona. Today is Sunday, but it is unlike any other Sunday. Earlier right through the week, we waited for the weekend. On Mondays, it was most difficult to begin going to the office after a fun-filled hiatus of two days of the weekend. Now every day is a Sunday since lockdown. The charm of Sunday is missing for the time being.

Today is my daughter's birthday. We celebrated at home. Earlier, we were spoilt for choice that where to celebrate, now there is no choice but to stay at home.

India and the world are still engaged in a tough and long-drawn battle against Corona. I hope our scientists come to our rescue and are able to announce the vaccination or drug at the earliest. Till then the social distancing and the lockdown are our only weapons against the invisible enemy.

Things are still not difficult if we take life one day at a time. There is no use of worrying about the future. We can still enjoy the present time is we take due care and follow a daily schedule of yoga, exercise, reading books, doing meditation, focusing on the positive things in life and enjoying time with family.

People are doing many constructive things during the lockdown from the confines of their homes. The Internet has enabled the employees to work from home, students are busy taking online classes, housewives are learning new recipes on YouTube and everybody is enjoying many hilarious videos being posted on WhatsApp and other apps. People are taking online yoga classes, professionals are learning new skills on online platforms and many people are binge-watching their favorite shows on the net. All this is keeping us from going insane.

Hope we are saner human beings when we finally come out of the captivity. Till then let's hold our nerves and enjoy the lockdown.
