Sad Song by Kayden

I thought you'd be there

Holding my hand through the storm and the rain,

But you made it clear

You only fight for your personal gain.

How often do you set your expectations high on people without even meaning to? They do a little for you maybe out of friendship and you go gaga over the most trifle thing hence allowing feelings and emotions to take up your rational mind. You expect them to be there for you like you would be there for them but life doesn't work that way. People leave as soon as they are done. They'd toss you, like a ragged piece of cloth, out of their life, just like that making it very clear that there's no room for sentimentality left.

Cause' you never stay and I'll never change

I wish we had something to say

I hate that I love you, when you're all that I run to

I don't know who I am without you.

You still keep on holding to people perfectly aware that they'd not stay and given a chance would leave without any second thoughts. You'd die hoping for that one closure which you'd never get. All of it would still not lessen your love for them by even 1 percent because over time you get so used to their presence that imagining your own life without them becomes difficult.

I don't believe what you say,

You never love me the same.

I am letting you know, I am letting you go,

I am tired of feeling this way;

And then the reality hits you like a meteorite. You realise your own self worth and priorities. You realise that each word they had ever said was a lie. Most of all, you realise that they never really loved you, hence with no option left you let them go. (Easier said than done)

And you don't deserve a song

But you'll probably sing along

So leave me alone, I am leaving alone

I am tired of feeling the blame.

Finally, after cajoling and forgiving them a hundred times, it takes a lot of courage to accept the fact that now those people are nothing more than the lyrics to your song which they don't even deserve to listen. You can still love them with all your heart and let them go because 'you are done' taking the blame every time.

A stranger to love as you were before they hijacked your life, completing a full circle ,you are left alone again but this time with a taste of love and a thousand memories to cherish.
