Socialising In These Times..

Dear Diary,

Aha... it's such a bright day! Today, I have lots of cooking activities planned. Am basically a foodie, love to eat and one of the exceptional wish I have is to eat eat eat but never put on - LOL. Well, today I am making some light breakfast and a widespread meal for my family. Nah, no occasions; just like that :)

What's at breakfast ?? So, there are some poached eggs with a bit of salt and pepper sprinkled on them plus baked beans. For lunch, I have thought of cooking a full Indian meal...While I was doing the top jobs for the meal; one of my friends calls up asking what I am up to? We then had a chit chat for a while and could have gone endless as she was a bit bored of this lockdown rule. Hence, we came up with an idea of cooking together virtually :D .. Digital times !! We thought chit-chatting while we cook will definitely bring us more closer as if we are stood next to each other in the same kitchen when we are NOT. So, we both agreed and installed software which helps to do that.. spent good one-hour cooking and discussing recipes, where they originated from, our personal favorite cooking tips and definitely reminisced the moments of having 'Mom made dishes'; in Hindi, we say (Maa k haath ka khana) .. Nostalgic, isn't?

The meal is ready and time for lunch. After all of this, I chose to have a power nap, so walked into my bedroom. a thought running in my mind was, what if these digital facilities weren't with us? no video calling, no internet? Had it not been much more difficult to live ?... Thank you to this world of digitization that we are still seeing each other by various means though we aren't allowed to physically meet !! I would say, social distancing while distant socializing :D...

In the evening, this topic again cropped up and we were talking about those days when used to write inland letters to parents while we stayed in the hostel, using those STD calls to connect with relatives once a while. I guess all born during the 80s would be able to relate...
