Sherlock Holmes and Mr.Infinity

A true protagonist,

Abrest with skills of a mentalist;

 Oblivious to his inner conflict 

But no case remains unsolved with his wit, 

Let alone be his mystery 

He will unfold the story

"Sir, three more similar death cases registered today", officer Siphon said in a distressed tone to his superintendent, Rolf.

Rolf: This is getting serious, before there's havoc in public we need to control this situation. He is a psycho serial killer, already 52 deaths are recorded.

Siphon: Sir on each dead body's missing thumb a red cloth inscribed with infinity symbol is tied, what it could mean?

Rolf: We need to urgently inform Sherlock Holmes to solve this mystery and inform the Mayor.

Sherlock Holmes and Watson enter the Mayor's office, Rolf briefs the case in detail and hands over the red piece of cloth.

Holmes is startled for a second, it felt like deja vu. He has seen it before. He gets up, tilts his hat in a nod, grabs the case papers with a murmur, "I will solve this mystery". "Take me to the death locations, Syphon " saying Holmes walked ahead.

" I have faith in Sherlock", Rolf says to Mayor but in hindsight, he just prays Holmes solves the mystery before the serial killer is out to set a new record.

At the death spot,

Sherlock and Watson reach the death site. All the dead bodies have their wrist veins cut causing death, thumb is missing and replaced with a red cloth, Syphon mentions to Holmes and Watson while they strand the location. Siphon continues, the serial killer is very sharp there are no trails , tools, or proofs left behind. 

Mr. Infinity, a serial killer, we need to study other spots to connect this chain before he targets his next victim saying Sherlock adjusts his hat. They visit the other sites, take photographs. Sherlock reaches home, he feels very heavy on his head and falls asleep.

After 2 days, one more similar death is encountered. Sherlock and Watson visit the death site. Sherlock notices the dead body shoes have a number inscribed in blood along with the usual red cloth marked with infinity, missing thumb and wrist cut. Watson notices footstep trails near the body, Mr. Infinity has crippled feet look at his footmarks he said Sherlock.

Watson and Sherlock reach home. Watson started checking the all autopsy and photographs, there's a unique no identified in each dead bodies shoes. Sherlock didn't took much time to realize it is in ddmmyy format.  Let's get details of these victims.

On enquiry, Watson finds all these victims have a track of criminal record but had got bailed due to their influences and power. The date of the bail is the number scripted on their shoes. Sherlock immediately asks for all criminal records of that year, the next target is tomorrow, Mr. Philips bail date tomorrow. We need to save him and catch Mr. Infinity Red handed.

As they gear, Sherlock feels like a whirlwind, I can't accompany you Watson I am feeling heavy at head but we need to catch Mr. Infinity this time any how,  you go ahead.

Watson reaches Philips residence as per plan. After few minutes he watches Mr. Philips walking in his garden lane, within minutes a man with a crippling gait is seen approaching the parking slot. He is Mr. Infinity, he can't get away today and Watson carefully steps ahead until his leg gets caught in a rope. He tried hard escaping but by the time he reached, Mr. Philips was dead and Mr. Infinity was seen tying the red cloth. He tried to see his face in the darkness but rains made it more difficult , a long black coat with a pocket where he placed the bleeding thumb of Philips.

Next morning, When Sherlock Holmes got up, he found Watson sitting next. Sherlock got up in zest, did you find Mr. Infinity? Yes, I did, Watson replied. Who is he? Is Mr. Philips fine? Did you handover him to Rofl and informed Mayor?

The killer Mr. Infinity is you Sherlock and you killed him yesterday.

What? Sherlock stood in surprise. Yesterday after Mr. Philip was killed, I followed Mr. Infinity, the crippled gait man headed to your apartment , took of his coat placed the bleeding thumb in the locker downstairs and took of his hat. As he turned I found out it's you but he was crippling and his facial expressions were different. He then came and slept in this bed.And now you woke up.

No this can't be true, Sherlock shook his head. 

Watson tries to pacify Sherlock, Its you , It's your split personality. Go check your wet clothes might still be there, it was raining yesterday night and check your locker.

Sherlock rushed downstairs only to realize Watson was correct.  

Its your split personality Sherlock, Watson said as he laid his hand on Holmes shoulder. Your consciousness couldn't accept these criminals to be set free to do more crimes in this world.
