The Lost Brothers

"Rohit, beta where are you? Electricity has gone but don't be scared, where are you?" Grandma kept calling for Rohit with a torch in her hand.

Rohit hears a fade voice of call for his name, he immediately closes his dad's operating system fearing his mom will scold if she finds him in outhouse since he was already warned several times to stay away from his dad's works. Soon electricity came, Rohit united with his Grandma. They had dinner and slept.

Next morning when Rohit and friends were playing, football got kicked hard and landed to the outhouse breaking the windowpane. Everyone was scared if Grandma will find it, Rohit immediately went to outhouse to search the ball but couldn't find until his friend Ria pointed out to the wooden cane which was shaking on its own. Rohit and his friends cautiously went near the can to open its lid and see, when a bizarre-being emerged from the can along with the ball.

Everyone got scared and numb to think of running from the place. The strange being walked a few steps and threw the ball which went so high in the skyscrapers the eyes couldn't meet. "He is powerful, he might harm us", Ria exclaimed in fear and continued, "But if we tell granny she will scold us and won't let us play henceforth ".

Shyam interrupts worried, "But the windowpane is broken, grandma will know it".

Hearing this, the strange being walks towards the pane and rubs his hand across, within a jiffy the broken pane gets joined as before.

Everyone exclaims unanimously, "Jadoo".

Rohit walks towards the strange being and says, "you won't harm us, friends Jadoo? and gestures his hand. The strange being slides his hand on Rohit's palm while all joyously shout Jadoo!

"But who are you? How you came here?" Shyam questions. "Is he the one my dad was reading in the newspaper today? The alien who got left in our town before the spaceship went back?" Ria enquired. Jadoo nodded.

"Rohit!", Grandma called. Rohit immediately hides Jadoo behind the can and all rush outside the outhouse. Afternoon they all meet Jadoo again, this time with food but Jadoo dejects. "Maybe he doesn't eat all this, then what you eat?" Ria remarked.

Jadoo went near the windowpane and turned his palm up and backside. "Sunlight!"And Rohit smiled. "We need to protect him from the officers," they are in a lookout for him.

Jadoo clung to Rohit in fear. "Don't worry Jadoo, you are safe here, just don't come out of the outhouse." Rohit calmed Jadoo and took a promise from everyone to keep this a secret.

5 years passed,

Jadoo was now family to Rohit and friends but he missed his world and his family. Rohit too had completed his college. One fine day when Grandma had gone to hometown for a week, Rohit decided he will try to operate his dad's system from where he would communicate with aliens. He took Jadoo along and tried to send signals but didn't receive feedback. He tried for few hours until Rohit gets a call and he moves out forgetting to switch off the system.

After a week or so, when Grandma returns, she finds a man strolling around her home. Grandma enquires the man but it appears the man has lost his memory and has no clue about his whereabouts. Grandma pities the man and offers food and shelter in exchange for work for a few days. Once when Rohit and all his friends were gathered together to discuss about Jadoo, this man was caught eavesdropping.

"What are you doing here?" Rohit enquired and the man left the place with a sad grin. Rohit doubted if the man had heard anything but reprimanded himself for being rude so he visited him in the terrace where he sleeps post their dinner and tries to be friends with him.

"I am sorry, don't feel offended. We were discussing important things and spotted you, so got distracted and raised my voice", Rohit apologized to the man while he reverted with a smile.

"Can I call you PK, until your memory returns? " Rohit asked smilingly and PK nodded.

Days went by and now PK and Rohit were friends. One fine night, as they gazed at the terrace, PK confides in Rohit and says, " I have to tell you something only if you promise to believe". Rohit smiles and assures. PK continues, " I don't belong to this land, look at the stars that are shining, my family stays there, that is my world. I got lost here, my mom had warned me not to talk to people on earth but one fine day I received some signals and responded. I wasn't sure of operating my signals properly. When I opened my eyes, I was in the forest along with this half emerald. I want to go back to my family".

Rohit was stunned, he understood what must have happened. He immediately rushes to his backhouse to his Dad's operating system and finds the PC still switched on. He feels bad because of him PK is now alone in our world away from his family.

Rohit musters courage and explains everything to his Grandma, who is shocked and doesn't believe PK or Rohit. She orders PK to leave her home at once thinking he will harm her people. Rohit tries to convince his Grandma and takes her to the courtyard to introduce Jadoo. When PK sees Jadoo, a light emerges around Jadoo's skull and they communicate in a strange language. They belong to the same world. Lost brothers! Rohit exclaimed as Jadoo and PK exchange hug.

Rohit with the help of his Grandma and PK try to operate his Dad's machine yet again and signal the alien world. PK was a bit abrest about the system, that night it rained heavily and the weather was changing. After a few flashes of lightning, PK along with Jadoo, Grandma and Rohit go to the terrace.

Jadoo and PK make signals looking at the sky along with some strange noise. Soon a UFO is sighted, Jadoo and PK are elated. They can return home, its there spaceship. Though Rohit was inconsolable at separation he was happy the lost brothers finally found abode. They exchanged hugs and Jadoo, PK left for their world.
