Responsibility
Responsibility
The ability to respond in the right way at a right time is a responsibility. Responsibility is not only about doing something but accepting the consequences of your actions. Even no response is a kind of response. Every small task in our life shows our ability to respond to the situation. Like, when we feel thirsty, our body needs water at that time. If we drink water at that moment, we are actually fulfilling the responsibility towards our body. If we delay having water, we face the consequences of being dehydrated. And if we take other liquids instead of water, then we may be fine for some time, but soon have to fulfill the required need. If you are responsible and able to respond appropriately, you will follow the same from a very small action to a big decision in life. Once you develop a habit, it actually becomes so natural and effortless that you will respond to any situation in an appropriate way. When we instill such habits in childhood, it becomes a personality. The person is then always responsible and also easily deal with many situations. Let's look at it through a short story about how easy is to develop such a habit in childhood. Gaurav is a businessman, from a middle-class family. He is leading a very good and balanced life between work and family. Mahi, a 6-year-old child, son of Gaurav, is a very naughty child. Gaurav wants him to be a responsible human being and he knows this is the right age wherein he can develop any habits in Mahi. Every evening Mahi goes to the garden with his mother and while on the way he buys toys or chocolate or chips or cake. It was like his daily routine to buy at least something. Gaurav knows all this, he decides to give him 10 rupees a day with a small little cute piggy bank. The instructions with this were like - it will be Mahi's choice to buy anything from that 10 rupees or save it in a piggy bank. The money saved in the piggy bank will be spent by himself to have anything of his own choice. This idea really worked in many ways -The things Mahi used to buy was limited to an amount of Rs 10. He got attracted to that piggy bank and started saving money. He learned the value of money. He used to be most happy to buy toys of his own choice from own saving. He learned to handle money at a very young age. He started setting goals to buy various things for himself from that saved money. The first goal was a remote control car. He was so happy to have his choice toy from the self saved money. After some time Gaurav started giving him Rs. 100 for a week. Mahi was happy with all this and for him, it was like a game. This way Gaurav made Mahi learn the life lesson without being him noticed. And in this process, Mahi not only becomes responsible but a person who understands the value of everything from money to relationships. Improve your ability to respond and become more responsible.
