Pieces Of Me

The chapters of my life flash before my eyes as I try and fall asleep. 

I think about the people that I once loved but have lost touch with. I can't help but wonder where they are and who they've become since our paths last crossed. 

I see the places that I have been and the footprints that I left behind when I decided to move on. I wonder if my initials are still carved into the bark on that tree, or if the ring that I lost is still hiding somewhere in that hotel room. 

I feel things that I felt once before all over again. The love, the hurt, the joy, and the pain all served such a beautiful purpose and made me the person that I am today. 

I remember the faces and the scenery and the surreal but wonderful memories that came with every hello and goodbye. 

I will never forget these bits and pieces of me. I will hold on to them in my heart until the time comes for me to leave this world, and maybe even when I go on to the next.
