A Prayer In Despair

The bit of hope I felt before, has made its way back out the door.

I felt like I could reach the sky, but now I sit and wonder why. 

I know the devil wants me back, to take my soul and paint it black. 

I ask myself where I went wrong, was I mistaken all along? 

Was I not meant to find the light? Even though it shined so bright? 

I pray to God, 'please help me see',

Why did you choose to rescue me?
