A Diamond in the Rough

I carved a piece of perfection out of nothing more than a chunk of stone that I found sitting on the side of the road, disregarded and disposed of.

I took what was once meaningless and mediocre and shaped it into a magnificent manifestation of sublime artwork that provoked the attention of all who laid eyes on it.

This misunderstood matter had potential that I was able to chisel into existence with only a pinch of patience and a dash of dexterity.

Why, oh why could nobody else find the beauty hidden within the beast?

If they had only taken the time to read between the lines, they would have seen that this 'chunk of stone' was simply in the wrong place at the wrong time.

That it was indeed a diamond in the rough whose shine could have been beheld, had it not been covered by the darkness of the ordinary and the orthodox.
