Sunita felt elated.

Finally, she got the letter.

The selection letter she was waiting for so impatiently.

The phone bell rang. Sunita told maa in an excited tone that finally, she had received the letter she was waiting for for such a long time. Maa was also very happy and said' Sunita beta always remember we as parents love you and our blessings are always with you.

She had a week's time before she had to complete all her preparations and renew and update her visa and passport.

She was thrilled beyond words.

After a couple of days, something unexpected shattered her world.

All her dreams were wiped off.

Her world seemed bare.

Dad had suffered a huge setback in business and after hearing about the loss he suffered a cardiac arrest.

He was on a ventilator and was in a highly critical state.

Doctors told us the next twenty-four hours were crucial.

I don't remember if I cried harder than before hearing this.

Mom and I felt totally broken.

For the next 24 hours, I prayed every second asking God for my father's well-being.

But God didn't relent.

That night we lost dad.

But today I still thank God and his plans. His wisdom.

I am lucky to have the best parents in this world.

After his death, I became strong overnight.

I tried to shoulder my family's responsibilities, as well as I, could.

I have no regrets.
