My grandparents lived on earth. Earth is more than two hundred light years away. It is a blue planet. Full of water.

Before the ice age arrived most of the human population had shifted to Ganymede . Ganymede is not a planet like earth it is a moon, but as it is big as earth it has an atmosphere and so oxygen is present in optimum levels, to support life.

Scientists have estimated that the ice age on earth would last for around a thousand years.

Maybe after that we can return. Not me but yes our future generations.

Ganymede has streams and rivers of water but the water is not blue. Due to some metals dissolved it is pink in color just like Azalea flowers found on earth. I had read about it in an encyclopedia about earth and its flora and fauna.

Ganymede has no forests no tall trees only barren stretches of sandy dunes with azure grass covering small patches here and there.

It is a peaceful and a beautiful world. It is my home and I was born here.

The climate is cold and we get showers of rain too but not as frequently as earth.

In my school we are being taught about how to grow potatoes, cereals, leafy vegetables like broccoli and spinach etc. It is a life skill each one has to grow their food in their home gardens.

Sometimes we are taken to trips on study tours to far off places and there we explore the sand , climb mountains swim in small streams click pictures of rocks and sky and horizon where the sand meets the grey sky. This is my favourite part of school I really wait for it eagerly .

Our days are twelve earth hours. Ganymede spins faster than earth.

Ganymede is revolving around Titan .Titan is an exoplanet and is full of ice. But it is huge much bigger than earth.

I don't have many friends here. But I have books and I really feel amazed by how our ancestors were and how humans dwindled after slowly the earth became uninhabitable.

I wonder what our future would be will we survive and thrive here or will we annihilate.

Only a few thousand humans are present here.

I have read on earth we had been in billions.

But due to climatic deterioration most of the human population was wiped off.

Only a few survived.

Today it is the year 4064 , and I will sleep now.
