My Sisters and Rakhi

Rakhi or Raksha Bandhan is a very special occasion for me, my sisters and my extended family. I eagerly wait for this function throughout the year as the function stands as testimony of love, respect, care, affection, warm wishes, blessings, special bonding between me and my sisters. Elder Sisters always bless me and younger ones warm wishes always fulfil me as a proud brother.

Till 2007, I used to live with my sister in Bhubaneswar. In June 2007, I took admission in Hyderabad Central University for my masters and stayed in Hostel, some 1250 km away from my sister. That year was so very special as for the first I was not with my sister due to my studies and I realised how special our bonding was. We both cried endlessly recollecting our special childhood memories. 

During our childhood, my sister used to tie rakhi on my hand and I used to give him some money ofcourse sourced from my parents. We used to make lots of fun on that day. From 2007 onwards till date (2023), except two occasions, we have not met on Rakhi. However, distance has strengthened our bonding and relationship. Our connection has grown stronger year after year. She has never failed to send Rakhi with lots of love. I have received lots of love, care, affection and blessings from my sister. This will be forever till my last breath.

I have many special rakhi sisters. They all are part of my extended family now. Elder sisters have always blessed me and received warm wishes from younger ones. The respect I received from younger ones is beyond description of words. I have never felt that they are my rakhi sisters. I always consider them as my own sisters. Connection between me and all of them is eternal. This bonding fulfills me eternal bliss and celestial peace. 

I always thank Lord Jagannath and pray to Mahaprabhu for their good health, peace, prosperity and happiness forever. On this holy festival, I wish all my sisters a very happy and fulfilling Raksha Bandhan from core of my heart. May this bond continue forever.
