My First Writing Experience

My First Writing Experience

I was ensconced under the canopy of a huge umbrella on the sands of a beach. The

hyperactive waves were furious with their rhythmic ebb and flow. The expanse of the sea

reflected luminous tinges of the sky above. A mellow music of breeze swayed across kissing my

tresses. The whole imagery of mother nature exuded beguiling charm. It was a fabulous

experience to connect with her.

My backpack was my most sought after crazy companion, it was ever magnetic and precious to

me. It comprised of a water bottle, butter biscuits, a letter pad, a blue colour ball point pen and a

black one.

There were many foreign tourists surfing the sea followed by a sun bath. The regular beach

strollers were engrossed in their walk. The presence of hawkers dotted the sands.

I was told that such an amicable ambience stimulated the writers to open up their heart and put

their pen to paper. As a matter of fact, I happened to wield my pen with the letter pad on my

lap. This was my first foray into writing.

My mind was completely blank initially. But ideas came tumbling, watching the resplendence of

nature. It was like as if I had been seated on the lap of luxury to soak myself in its tranquil.

The ink that dribbled thus -

"I gazed deep into the oceanic waters

Where the waves crashed vigorously.

Along the paths of sand

Loitered strollers watchfully.

The ruffled winds rendered

Lilting melodies into my ears.

The aroma of piping hot grubs

Enticed us for greedy grabs.

I allowed the spirited ink

To verse soulfully.

And painted the canvas of my letter pad

With vibrant hues of words.

It dripped honeyed verses

Sweet enough for readers to savour.

The warmth of ubiquitous blue

Kindred a sense of mirth.

And thus was born my poem

A first and a new one at that

I read it aloud for my class

And received a huge applause".!!!!

When I presented the above poem to my class teacher, my mind was lurking in anxiety as to

what her reaction would be. But much to my astonishment, the teacher and the whole class

acknowledged the poem to be a good first attempt and motivated me to keep writing.

Since then, there was no looking back and I utilized my leisure to embark on the journey of

stringing words!

I preserved my first writing as a priceless treasure.
