MY  FIRST DAY AT  JOB : A JOURNEY OF  LIFE
         BY SANJAY YADAV

Many years ago, there was a young man named Mohammed Khan. He had recently completed his college education in Delhi. After finishing his studies, he started searching for a job to build his career. He wanted to work outside Delhi, so he filled many job application forms and waited patiently for a response.
One evening, Mohammed Khan was sitting quietly in his room, looking worried. His father came inside and asked gently,
“Mohammed, my son, what happened?”
Mohammed replied in a low voice,
“Nothing, Dad. I have applied for many jobs outside Delhi, but I haven’t received any response yet.”
His father smiled and said,
“Don’t worry, dear. Good things take time. Just be patient.”
After dinner, Mohammed returned to his room, still thinking about his future. Suddenly, his phone rang with a notification. He quickly checked it. It was an email for a job interview from Goa.
His face lit up with happiness. Without wasting a moment, he rushed downstairs to share the good news with his parents.
“Dad! Mom! I got an interview call—from Goa!” he said excitedly.
His parents were very happy and blessed him. It was the first step toward a new journey in his life.
The next morning, Mohammed Khan woke up early and got ready to travel to Goa. He was excited, but at the same time, he felt nervous because he was going to meet new people and face a completely new environment.
When he reached Goa, everything felt different. The city was lively and full of opportunities. For a moment, he felt uncomfortable because he came from a poor background and had completed his education with great difficulty. Life had not been easy for him.
But he did not lose hope. He reminded himself that this interview could change his life.
He rented a small room for a few days and prepared himself for the interview. That night, he revised his knowledge and tried to stay calm, though he could not completely control his nervousness.
The next day, he dressed neatly and went to the office where the interview was being conducted. As he entered the building, he saw many candidates waiting there. Everyone looked confident and well-prepared.
For a moment, he felt nervous again. But then he remembered his struggles and the support of his parents. Taking a deep breath, he stepped forward.
Mohammed Khan reached the interview room and sat outside, waiting for his turn. His heart was beating fast. After a few minutes, the attendant called his name.
“Mohammed Khan, please come inside.”
He entered the room politely and greeted the interviewers. He sat down and began answering their questions. At first, he felt nervous and made a small mistake, but he quickly corrected himself and continued with confidence.
At the end of the interview, one of the interviewers said,
“Please wait outside. The results will be announced in ten minutes.”
Mohammed came out and waited anxiously. Those ten minutes felt like a long time. Finally, the attendant came out with a list of selected candidates and started calling names.
When Mohammed Khan heard his name, he could not believe it. His face filled with happiness. He had been selected for the job, and the salary offered was also good.
With great excitement, he returned home and shared the good news with his parents. They were very proud and happy. It was a special moment for the whole family.
The next day, Mohammed Khan started his new journey at the office. It was his first day at work. He met his colleagues, learned about his responsibilities, and began adjusting to the new environment.
However, everything was not easy.
Some people in the office did not treat him kindly. They judged him because of his background, his religion, and even his appearance. They made fun of him and passed hurtful comments about him and his family.
Mohammed felt hurt and uncomfortable. For a moment, he thought about giving up. But then he remembered his struggles and the dreams he had worked so hard for.
He decided to stay strong.
He continued working with dedication and honesty. Slowly, many of his colleagues began to notice his hard work. They started respecting him and became his friends. During breaks, they talked, laughed, and supported each other.
But a few people still continued their negative behavior. They criticized him and tried to bring him down.
Finally, Mohammed gathered courage and reported the issue to his boss.
When the boss heard about the situation, he took strict action. He warned those employees and made it clear that such behavior would not be accepted in the workplace.
One day, during office hours, the boss came to observe the employees’ work. Mohammed Khan was sitting quietly at his desk, fully focused on his work. He was doing his tasks with sincerity and dedication.
The boss noticed his hard work and was very impressed. After observing him carefully, the boss called him and said,
“Mohammed, I appreciate your dedication and honesty. You have done excellent work.”
As a reward for his effort, the boss offered him a higher position in the company. Mohammed Khan felt proud of himself. His hard work had finally been recognized.
What made him even greater was his kind heart. He forgave the people who had once made fun of him and criticized him. Instead of holding anger, he chose to move forward with positivity.
Slowly, the office environment changed completely. All the employees started working together with respect and understanding. There was no more discrimination, only teamwork and happiness.

Mohammed Khan also began to understand the importance of teamwork in the workplace. He learned how to communicate with his colleagues, share ideas, and support others in their tasks. Every day, he improved his skills and gained more confidence. His journey was not only about earning money but also about growing as a person. He realized that every challenge he faced was helping him become stronger and wiser.
