Mission Space: Astronaut child

An Astronaut was busy researching about space, his kid came running to him and asked two questions underneath -

1 ) Are there stars/planets as big as sun?

2) Can you build a robot for me?

The father admired his son's genuine curiosity. The father told his son that he will answer all his queries at 8 PM during dinner and answered all his queries when they were dining together.

After answering his queries, he told his son that he is going to space on a mission. 

As such his son was worried and hence inquired "I am worried something might  happen to you because of low gravity. Also, I got to know you will be asleep during transportation."

Father replied "Son, do not worry, I assure you that nothing will happen to me. There is a team which will take care of me and ensure that the whole process of transportation goes on smoothly."

Son answered "Please explain in detail dad"

Father said "Son, onboard the spaceship, there will be a team which is responsible for repair and maintenance of spacecraft, medic team, few other astronauts, two pilots who have been in different mission's earlier, physicist, botanist and a photographer which will ensure that the mission is carried out properly and smoothly. Also, the medical team is very experienced and they are equipped to take care of any emergency which may arise. Also, this is a government mission, and they are very experienced, so, do not worry, my dear son"

Son said "That's good"

Son further added "That means your name will be among those who have traveled to space. And your name will be always remembered and will be in golden words in History I believe."

Father smiled and appreciated his son that he was now seeing the bright side of going to space instead of worrying.

Son asked "Why are you not going to anywhere else like moon or anywhere else ?"

Father replied " Well I am going on a mission. And for this mission I need to go to space only and not anywhere else. "

Son said "OK, you can go, but, do come back safe"

Son further added "Father, before leaving, please come to my room and then I will give you an envelope and please open when you are in spacecraft and far away from earth"

Once the father was far away from earth, he was missing his son and wanted to complete the mission and embrace his son tightly. He recalled that his son gave an envelope to him. He opened the envelope and saw that the son mentioned "Father, I love you. Best of Luck. Happy Journey. Return back as soon as possible. Hope you are successful in your mission. Once you return, please let me know what you have seen up there"

After a gap of almost 12 years, the father reached his son and embraced his son tightly. He told his son that the mission was successful and told him what his mission was. 

Please Note - This story is written keeping in mind the insecurities that the families have when Astronauts travel to space. Also, I would like to salute all Astronauts because it is because of them that we could explore Space, Moon etc
