Are we Really Free or Independ
Are we Really Free or Independ
This question haunts me every year. We are free from Invaders. But, Are we free? Before going into the intricacies of it. Let me try to showcase the meaning of independence through few short stories, poem, and few statements -
1st Story
A father had two sons. Ram's father was in Army and his name was included in the parade.
Ram's father was practicing very hard for the parade even in his house so that he could parade properly in Republic Day. Suddenly, he heard the news that his elder son is no more. He started weeping.
Next day, it was 26th January, Ram saw that his father was instilled with energy and enthusiasm, and he performed the parade with renowned energy although he lost his son the other day. Ram realized that for his father, Mother India was really important. Later when his father reached home he questioned his father “Father, now I understood that Nation is more important than our self-interest or personal interest, is that right”
Father said "Yes, you are right."
Father than explained how we got independence and what is his duty as an Army person.
Father further added "Son, unless we are spiritually free and when there is no domestic walls, then we are actually free"
To explain him he narrated "Divide and Rule policy” of East India company. He further said "This was how we started to hate each other.”
He further added “True Independence is also when these kind of domestic barrier is not present.”
Also, he took him to the slums so as to showcase what poverty is and then explained to him “Son, according to me Real Independence is when there is no poor in India”
2nd Story
There was a girl named Elizabeth. She was coined as Sexy among boys because of her curvaceous figure. She used to return home late in the evening from tuition classes. Her father used to stay worried about her safety and therefore her father used to drop her to the tution classes
One day, she went for her tuition classes all alone and while she was returning, she was followed by few boys. She ran and reached her home somehow.
Whether this fear should be present in Independent India or not. I would like to question each and every one?
A Poem to emphasize the meaning of Independence:-
Let's remember the Bravery
Of our brave freedom fighters who sacrificed their life
To free India from the shackles of Slavery
So, Are we really free?
We celebrate Independence Day with pomp ,grandeur and with show
But, what is real Independence, Do we know?
Yes, India is free from Invaders
But, India is not free spiritually free
Because of our self-interests, prejudices and the evil that resides in our mind
I dream to wake up in India
Where there is Peace and Harmony
Where there is no poverty
Where everyone lives Hand in Hand and in Unison
Where both boys and girls are treated equally and there is no fear
Where India is not fragmented by domestic walls
Where each and every Indian is smiling
Then we can proudly say that we are really Independent
Our Mother India still dreams to become Independent in true sense. This is only possible when each and every body wants to make India really Independent.
Freedom from self-centered thinking and placing the nation above oneself is Real or True Independence
Let's join hands to make India independent in true sense.
Jai Hind !!
