Love You (In The Light)

Anika stayed the night with Ruhi. Yes, Ruhi still was mad at Anika for cheating on Ganesh with her boyfriend! It was a love triangle or a love square? Well, this is getting me confused. Anyway, Ruhi told Anika that she could stay the night, she was scared that if someone was stalking Anika then, she needed to be safe. But then again Anika was drunk. So who knew if she was hallucinating,

Anika was drowning further in the sea of misery, first, she found out that Ganesh was cheating on her. And then Raju? And then the stalker? Now the look of broken trust in Ruhi’s face that Anika would have to deal with. How could life get worse? The whole night Anika could not sleep. She was sobbing the whole time. She cried until she did not have enough energy to muster up a tear, she still could not go to sleep. 

At around 3; 45 in the night, Anika carefully took her jacket and opened the door. What was the point of being with someone who hated her? He took a deep breath and walked out she gently closed the door. She stepped out. It was unnaturally cold that night. She walked by the pathway, unclear on her exact place to go. She had no place now. Ganesh had the house, she could not deal with being around sweet Ruhi. She could not go back to Raju. Never. Now she was alone, in the bitter cold. Her fashionista jacket was not helping her in this cold.

She walked alone, trying to flag down every car she saw. They all just zoomed by her. She was utterly exhausted. Her mind was set on a hotel. But transportation was needed.

Anika pulled her jacket tighter around herself, she breathed heavily. That’s when a prickle went down her spine. She was on a deserted path no one was supposed to be there. She cast a quick desperate glance behind. That’s when she saw a man with a black parka jacket, the hood pulled up. He started walking toward her.

the first step he took confirmed that he was a red flag. Anika wisely took off, forgetting completely about the bitter cold. Every time her leg connected with the ground, she felt like she was flying.

Anika was fast, that was for sure. But the man was taller which meant longer legs. Anika’s thoughts were fixated on getting help. She soon faced two choices. Either she could continue running on the clear road ahead of her or she could run down a gully. She could probably lose the man in the gullies.

She took a sharp turn right straight into the gully. The only other sound other than her violent pulse was her pursuer’s heavy footsteps. She twisted and turned to get away from him. She was losing speed and stamina.

She turned left into a small alley. She ran and ran until she realised. It was a dead end. It was over, her pursuer had caught her shouted.

“LEAVE ME ALONE!”

“Anika? Calm down”

The man immediately removed his hoodie. It was………………………………………. Ganesh.
