Cop Chess -part 1

See, having a career in the crime industry is not fun. It's not fun to watch people die, to deal with pysopaths. Us detectives, we all have to be a bit crazy. We have to think as criminals. And sometimes that draws us into doing bad stuff. Sometimes we see to much that we lose control. 

None of this was a thrilling ride for me. To top that, this case was my first one out on the field, face to face with the murderer. This case was mentally, the most exhausting one I have ever had but it was not the most bloodiest.

Let's get on with the story. 

21st of December, 2016;

I sat in my office in Chicago, staring at the file in front of me. my thoughts ranged from dinner to rain.

Dinner because it was 7 pm, rain because it was raining. I would have continued to do so, if I hadn't heard the voice,

"Rao, please grace it with your presence."

Hmm, I thought to myself, her sarcasm still sucked. I turned around in my chair to face the newcomer in my office. 

She was an old friend, tanned skin, she had a swallow face, dark brown eyes, and black hair cut into a short bob cut, she was wearing a top with the words. 

" Merry Christmas"

Written on them, she had blue jeans. She sprouted a thin smile.

She looked tired. But content. She was Robin Jones.

I smiled back and asked,

" How may I be of service."

I already knew the answer.

" It's a new case."

She spoke.

I said sarcastically,

" Man, I'm sure we will finish off before Christmas Eve. These murderers only like killing during the holiday season, it's like we are getting a kill one, kill another deal."

She said,

" No, it's a kill a cop, then kill one more."

I then gained more interest. Cops were getting killed. That meant that if I got involved............... Even my life would be on the line.

But then again. I wouldn't be out in the field. There would be a bunch of braver souls, i only would plan out the investigation, put together all the pieces. 

Yes, I did put together all the pieces. But then I also killed a person.
