13) Love for Love: The Journey of Life

During the afternoon, Ram and Lakshmi were packing their bags for Chennai.
Ram: Lakshmi! How many items are left to pack?
Lakshmi: Not many. Only a few items are left to pack now.

Ram: Okay! Do it quickly.

Lakshmi: Ram, wait. I want to ask you something.
 What time is the train?

Ram: Tonight at eight o’clock.

Lakshmi: Okay!

Then both of them completed packing their bags.
Soon, it was nighttime. Lakshmi’s mother was preparing food for their train journey. Ram and Lakshmi came downstairs together with their bags, ready to leave for the railway station.

Lakshmi’s Mother: Dear, I have prepared some dinner for the train. Make sure you eat it on time.

Lakshmi: Okay, Mom.

Ram looked at the time.

Ram: Lakshmi! Let’s go. Our train will leave soon, and we might miss it.

Lakshmi: Okay. Bye, Mom. Please take care.

Before leaving, Ram and Lakshmi took the blessings of their parents. Then they left for the railway station to begin their journey to Chennai.
Ram and Lakshmi arrived at the railway station on time.

Ram: We arrived at the right time.

Lakshmi: Yes.

Ram: Wait here. I’ll go and check where the train is.

Lakshmi: Okay.

Lakshmi waited beside the bags while Ram went to check on the train. After some time, Ram returned.

Lakshmi: What happened?

Ram: Nothing.

Lakshmi: When will the train arrive?

Ram: They said that the train is five minutes late.

Lakshmi: Okay. Let’s sit somewhere and wait for the train.

After some time, the train arrived at the station.

Ram: Lakshmi, the train is coming.

Lakshmi: It took a very long time.

Ram: Yes! But now that the train has arrived, let’s go inside slowly.

Lakshmi: Okay.

The train stopped at the station. Ram and Lakshmi picked up their bags and went inside the train.
They found their seats and sat down together. After some time, the train began to move and slowly left the station.
As the train continued running, Ram and Lakshmi enjoyed looking at the beautiful scenery outside.

Lakshmi: The scenery outside is very beautiful.

Ram: Yes! But I am very hungry.

Lakshmi: Oh, sorry! I forgot. Wait, I’ll take the dinner out.

Ram: Please take it out quickly.

Both of them started having dinner together.

Ram: Today’s dinner was very nice.

Lakshmi: Thank you.

Ram looked outside and noticed that it was getting late.

Ram: Now let’s go to sleep. It has become very late.

Lakshmi: Yes! But you should inform our parents that we have boarded the train.

Ram: Don’t worry. Tomorrow morning, I will inform them.

Lakshmi: Okay! But don’t forget.

Ram: Don’t worry. I won’t forget.

Lakshmi: Good night.

Ram: Good night.

Then both of them went to sleep happily during the night as the train continued its journey toward Chennai.
The next morning, Ram and Lakshmi woke up. Both of them went to the washroom on the train to brush their teeth and freshen up.

Ram: Good morning, Lakshmi.

Lakshmi: Good morning, Ram.

Ram: Did you sleep well?

Lakshmi: Yes.

Ram: Have you finished brushing and freshening up?

Lakshmi: Yes.

Ram: I want some tea to drink this morning.

Lakshmi: When are we going to reach Chennai?

Ram: We will reach Chennai tonight at eight o’clock.

Lakshmi: Okay.

During the afternoon, both of them sat together on their seats and looked outside through the window. They enjoyed watching the scenery as the train continued toward Chennai.
Then it was time for lunch. Ram and Lakshmi sat together and ate their lunch.
After completing their lunch, both of them slept together on their seats for some time.
During the evening, Ram started taking their bags and preparing to get off the train when they reached Chennai.

Finally, the train reached Chennai. Ram and Lakshmi took their bags and came outside the train.
They walked outside the railway station and looked for a taxi to take them to their new destination.

Lakshmi: Let’s take a taxi.

Ram: There are many taxis. Let’s ask someone.

Lakshmi: Let’s go.

Then both of them went to a taxi.

Ram: Hello.

Taxi Driver: Hello, sir.

Ram: Can you drop both of us?

Taxi Driver: Yes, sir. Please come.

Ram: Thank you. But how much will it cost?

Taxi Driver: Sir, it will cost ₹200.

Ram: Okay.

Ram and Lakshmi got into the taxi and started their journey.

Taxi Driver: Sir, can I ask you something?

Ram: Yes, please.

Taxi Driver: Where are you going?

Ram: We have come to Chennai for the first time, so we don’t know much about the city.

Taxi Driver: Okay, sir.

Ram: Can you tell me where we can find a house to settle in?

Taxi Driver: Yes, sir. You can find a house in many places. But you can take a rented house. It would be good for you because getting a government house can be very difficult.

Ram: Yes, I understand.

The taxi continued moving through the city as Ram and Lakshmi looked outside and began thinking about their new life in Chennai.
Then Ram and Lakshmi started searching for a house to settle in. However, they could not find one.
After some time, a man came toward them. His name was Krishna.

Krishna: Hello.

Ram: Hello.

Krishna: I think you have come to Chennai for the first time.

Ram: Yes.

Krishna: Is there any problem?

Lakshmi: Yes! We are looking for a house, but we haven’t been able to find one.

Krishna: I have a house in my area. Both of you can stay in that house.

Ram was surprised and happy to hear this.

Ram: Oh! Thank you so much.

Krishna: It’s my pleasure. And don’t worry about a job. I have a job for you in my office.

Lakshmi: Thank you so much.

Ram and Lakshmi were very happy. They had arrived in Chennai without knowing anyone, but now they had found both a place to stay and a job opportunity.
After their conversation, Krishna took Ram and Lakshmi to see the house in his area.
Ram and Lakshmi looked at the house and were happy with it. They decided to settle there together and begin their new life.
The next day, Ram started working at Krishna’s office. Both Ram and Lakshmi were very happy because they now had a house and a job.

Ram started going to work regularly, while Lakshmi took care of the responsibilities at home. They slowly became comfortable with their new life in Chennai.
Nine months passed.
One day, Ram was sitting on a chair and reading the newspaper while Lakshmi was doing some work in the kitchen.
Suddenly, Lakshmi began having severe stomach pain.


Lakshmi: Ram! Ram!

Ram immediately went to her.

Ram: Lakshmi, what happened?

Lakshmi: I don’t know. Suddenly, my stomach started hurting.

Ram became worried.

Ram: Let’s go to the hospital.

Ram quickly took Lakshmi to the hospital. They hurried there together, worried about what had happened.
Soon, they reached the hospital

Ram: Where is the doctor?

Nurse: The doctor is in his room.

Ram: Please call the doctor.

Nurse: Wait. I will call the doctor.

After some time, the doctor came to the place where Ram was waiting.

Doctor: What happened?

Ram: Doctor, she is my wife. Today, she was working in the kitchen, but suddenly she started having stomach pain.

Doctor: Okay. Nurse, take her to the room.

Nurse: Yes, Doctor.

The nurse took Lakshmi into the room while Ram waited outside.
After some time, the doctor and nurse came out of the room.

Ram: Doctor, what happened to my wife?
The doctor smiled.

Doctor: Congratulations! Your wife has given birth to a baby boy.

Ram was surprised and extremely happy.

Ram: Really?

Doctor: Yes. Congratulations once again.

Ram: Can I meet my wife?

Doctor: Yes, sure. You can meet her.

Ram: Thank you, Doctor.

After the conversation with the doctor, Ram entered the room.
When Ram saw the baby boy’s face for the first time, he became extremely happy, and tears came to his eyes. He looked at his newborn son with love and happiness.

After some time, Lakshmi slowly opened her eyes. She was still weak and was not able to speak properly.
Ram immediately called the doctor into the room.
Doctor: Oh, Lakshmi has opened her eyes.
Ram: Doctor, can I take my wife home?
Doctor: Yes, sure. But remember, she should not do too much work. As much as possible, she should spend time with the baby because the baby needs his mother’s milk regularly.

Ram: Sure, Doctor.

Doctor: Lakshmi, very, very congratulations once again.

Ram looked at Lakshmi happily.

Ram: Lakshmi, wait. First, I will inform our families about the good news.

Then Ram went outside the room to inform both families about the birth of their baby boy.
Ram called his father, Raju.

Raju: Hello.

Ram: Dad.

Raju: My son, how are you?

Ram: I am fine, Dad. I want to give you some good news.

Raju: What good news, dear?

Ram: Lakshmi has given birth to a baby boy.

Raju became extremely happy after hearing the news.


Raju: Really? That’s very good news!

Ram: Yes, Dad.

Raju: We are also coming to Chennai to see our baby boy and meet my daughter-in-law.

Ram: Yes, Dad. Come. I am waiting for you. Dad, please bring Lakshmi’s family with you.

Raju: Yes, sure.

After the conversation, Raju’s family and Ravi’s family prepared to travel to Chennai.
When both families arrived in Chennai and saw the baby boy, they became extremely happy, and tears of joy filled their eyes.

Ram and Lakshmi were also very happy to see their parents together with their newborn baby.
Then Ram and Lakshmi, along with their parents, went home with the baby boy.

Both Raju’s family and Ravi’s family spent time with the baby boy at their home. Everyone was smiling and happy as they celebrated the arrival of the newest member of their family.
The house was filled with love, happiness, and the joyful presence of their new born baby boy.
