Love Cubicle

Rohit was about to enter his work premises when he collided with a the pretty looking girl at the reception lobby of MERINA ANALYTICS INC , NEW DELHI. Rohit is the senior Audit Analyst in that organization. Rohit has never been in close proximity to any girl irrespective of being in school, Graduation or during MBA from FMS DELHI. Irrespective of being a genius in Finance since college days which has taken his career with a rocketing start in one of the highest paying Finance MBA grads job of a American based Analytics firm, Rohit is very shy while it comes to interacting with one from the opposite gender. Rohit can barely look at the face of the collider when the lift door opened and the office hitting crowd rushed inside and Rohit can just get a glimpse of the pretty girl who is standing next to him but Rohit does not have the courage to turn his head and look at her face.

Rohit simply went to his cubicle and logged in when Sumit nodded, " Bro you know there is a new joinee in our team. The new joinee girl is very cute and pretty. seems like a cherry in the Sahara desert." Rohit nodded as if that news hardly had any impact on him. It was hardly 1 hour past 10 in the morning when Manager Dayanand summoned Rohit in his cabin. Rohit knew it was some new work assignment waiting for him which the manager expects Rohit to deliver and on a serious note Rohit is capable enough to deliver work modules managers have in their deliverables and he does them with zero error. Little did Rohit know that a sweet, charming surprise was waiting for him in the cabin. " Hello Rohit my boy, hope you are great. I have a huge responsibility for you. This is Priya Rai. She will be joining our analytics and payments team from today. Kindly ensure she is properly onboarded with the job roles and responsibilities. It is your duty to train her on the job. " Rohit saw this is the same girl who collided with Rohit at the lift lobby. He greeted Priya with a gentle smile.

Priya nodded. Both of them went out of the manager's cabin. The girl asked Rohit, " I was told you are the gem of this department Sir". " Please call me Rohit, that will be cooler" Rohit replied with a smile. " I will ensure you have absolutely no issues with the work here and I will train you accordingly. So you can relax today. I will just brief you on how our domain team functions and a small intro on how the work is done." Time passed away and lunchtime arrived. Priya asked Rohit, " I hardly know anyone Rohit, if it is okay for you to accompany me for lunch." Rohit was a bit shaky. He has never been with any girl even for a coffee ever and it was awkward for him. Still, he said yes and both of them went for lunch. Rohit was telling Priya about the work culture of this office, his experience in 2 years in this office.

Priya had a birthmark on her left chin and while she talks she looks extremely cute and somehow Rohit cannot ignore that innocent cuteness in her face. Priya started talking about her MBA days when she used to have a lot of fun, parties, outings, trips with buddies. Rohit added, " despite all the fun you had done, you managed a good CGPA which landed your placement in this prestigious MNC here. You are talented indeed. You have a hobby of dance in classical as well as western. I have never tried any hobby in my life. I wish I was like you my life would have been a bit more exciting. " Priya said, " Rohit your personality is so sober and gentle any girl will fall for you. why don't you have a girlfriend? " Rohit will prefer to die but he can,t tell that he gets nervous in front of girls. Looks-wise Rohit is handsome but that advantage never took a turn as he never tried hitting on any girl ever. But for the 1st time, it seems Rohit is getting attracted towards the girl, her face, her eyes, her lip movement, her expressions. He will never have the courage to ask a girl to have a date with him ever but all he wants is to spend more and more time with Priya.

Days passed by and Rohit is training Priya well on the Job. Apart from being professional colleagues, both have become very good friends. Priya seems to be very comfortable in Rohit,s company. She shares all her stories with him and Rohit listens to them without blinking his eyes. One day Priya was sitting in her cubicle very upset. Rohit was late that day. Once he reached he saw Priya sitting quietly. " What happened Priya? any issues. " " nothing," replied Priya. Rohit knew it was some serious issue. Rohit asked Priya, " Unless you tell me what's the problem I cannot help you as a friend unless you consider me one.

: Priya told, " My family is pressuring me for marriage. I want to continue with my job, with my passion to sing and to grow but my family does not support me. Rohit listened carefully and told her," No worries I will help you so that your family cannot stop you from progressing in what you want to achieve." Rohit immediately started a developmental project on making a banking docket application and set Priya as the customer handling operator for that project which made her be engrossed 7 days in the project. Now her family cannot ensure that she will take leave and come the home as her work is set accordingly however in reality the profile she is put into has the least work pressure.

Priya is very much dependent on Rohit on small matters including work-related issues, personal things, chitchats, etc. Rohit can feel a strong sense of attachment, belongingness for Priya. He cannot imagine the office without Priya at any point in time. Further, it was a fear in his mind that if someday things change and Priya does not come, he will be left alone in this place. Rohit never felt such a strong attachment for any girl in his life. If something is very precious for someone the fear of protecting it becomes an obsession. In the meantime, it was a singing audition for a reality show and Rohit took Priya on his bike. The prelims were cleared and Priya got selected for the final round. If that round is cleared, she moves ahead. From Delhi, there are 5 slots. Rohit was supporting Priya with his motivation.

There was a sudden turning point waiting for Rohit in the most unexpected twisted agony when the audition for Priya was on the way. The result of the audition came out and Priya is in the top 5 from Delhi. She will go to the main event which will be on TV. Priya was very happy and she hugged Rohit. Rohit was equally happy for her. Priya told her," let me tell you about someone today. He will join us and we 3 are going to party tonight at Rockers Club. " Rohit was like, " Of course." A tall lanky guy came and hugged Priya in front of Rohit. He was Aman, Priya,s childhood friend. Aman and Priya have been the best buddies and they share a great bond altogether. Aman is a Mechanical Engineer in a Construction Company based in Abu Dhabi. He came for his holidays and to meet Priya also. Rohit was heartbroken. He knew his life was about to be taken away, the most precious part of his heart was cut off from his body and he couldn't react. He wanted to go away but he cannot. Priya introduced Aman to Rohit. Rohit nodded his head. The 3 went for the party although it was no less than torture to him.

It was on Rockers Club where both Aman and Priya are talking to each other about their school memories. They had a fight, friendship, bonding, and pureness in every aspect. Aman told," I have a surprise for you Priya, you need to stand by me. You have supported me every time in my life. " He took out a ring and held it in front of Priya," this is for someone very special" Rohit was just about to stand up and leave when Priya cried," this is Smita right, your girlfriend in Dubai correct.? I knew it stupid now what's the plan did you propose to her. Aman nodded. Priya tells Aman to make the video call right now to Smita. Rohit was not only confused but speechless, shocked, astonished, and taken aback. He knew that the last 30 mins of his life exactly what it means to be afraid to feel the fear of losing someone. " I love you Priya !!"

Priya was surprised and happy as well. She too had started developing feelings for Rohit it's just she wanted Rohit to make the 1st move. " Mission accomplished, Mr. Rohit did propose to her princess lovely. Guys, it's time you support me in my proposal to my love who is in Dubai. " Aman replied in a funny way. Rohit understood it was preplanned, both are really best of Friends. Being a good friend Aman helped Priya so that a Gem of a guy like Rohit proposes to Priya. The video call got connected and Aman is ready to sort out his mission love proposal. Love is truly flying in the air.
