As the morning sun rose higher it seemed to be floating in the clouds in the big blue bright sky. The day too got warmer and the wind blew with abandon. Tia was sitting in the corridor trying to find the network on her mobile phone and eating her breakfast like a bird. She saw people walking around happy on the sidewalk. This lifted her mood and she kept her phone on the side table, a kitten rallied playfully on the boundary wall trying to climb the mango tree. Tia noticed a sparrow's nest on one of the upper branches of the tree. Just then Grandfather came out of the house with some of his books, glue, scissors, brown sheet of wrapping paper.

Tia remembered she had promised him to fix his books and label them. She showed grandfather the nest with excitement. Grandfather took out his glasses and put them in his shirt pocket and recollecting the days told her the nest is a gift from the sparrow's who hatched from tiny eggs inside the nest, learned flying and one day soared high into the infinity. As she too will do in a few days when her vacation gets over. The days the little nestlings were in the nest welcomed him in the morning with their melodious chirping. They were the harbingers of happiness and joy. He too had built a bird feeder for them, wherein kept water and some grains. Tia thought memories never get old. She finished her breakfast quickly got into fixing grandfather's books occasionally receiving inputs from grandfather from where and how he got the book, or a a tiny story from the books. She loved these small moments of companionship. Time flew with a blink of an eye leaving lasting memories. And she was happy savoring and collecting them.
