I Will Walk Away

Jayne crouched down beating her chest as if to rip out her heart. No word could express the thought of letting go to a memory she kept alive.

The busy sidewalks and driveways this time around had people and cars all in the rush hour to get home on-time for the telecast games.

Jayne in no rush walked home alone her mind in the beautiful past when love was young and innocent. Gazing into the milky way galaxy she soon found herself in a world of illusion. On a beach she sat alone watching in total silence the crashing sea on the sand. Its motion of waves were for her the sift in life that so quickly vanished leaving her in the current life.

It dawned on her time was catching up on her. She needed to head home to the welcome music of her chattering boys. The years were cruel to her for it took her through hell of tears and pain. But never did she once give up on life. For her boys were the reason she walked the tough winding road of life.

'I will walk away from the pain that kept me a prisoner. I will walk away from the fear of speaking out my mind my heart. I will walk away away from men that have no appreciation of my sweat. I will dry my tears and pick up my broken pieces of my life. I will leave you all in the past and move on with my life'.

These were words she promised herself and packed up and walked out of her pain and life of misery.

Like a tree she stands tall and alone but stronger than ever.

That is the strength of a woman who never has given up on life.
