Vibhuti was studying in class four. He was happy as his father used to take him to school regularly by motorcycle. The happiness didn’t last long on Vibhuti's forehead. His father died after being seriously ill. The condition became so miserable that his education seemed to end, but his mother Kamalini Devi did not give up and she accepted a nanny job. Vibhuti no longer goes to school on a motorcycle and brings only bread or Roti made by his mother in his Tiffin-box. He becomes surprised noticing that all those who were his friends do not accompany him as before. He realizes none want to share their Tiffin with his ordinary Tiffin. Once Kamalini Devi fell ill and her fever did not subside. Being a nanny she had to earn on a daily basis. Due to high fever, she couldn’t prepare her son for school with Tiffin. Vibhuti understood their poverty. He went to school without eating anything. After returning home in the afternoon, he asked for food from his mother. Kamalini's body was burning with fever, but looking at his face she said, “Look at the small casket on that shelf, there seems to be some small money in it.” While hugging his mother Vibhuti felt her body was hot like fire. He forced all the small money into his mother’s hand and said, “Let's get your medicine, I’m not even hungry. Kamalini tried to explain a lot but Vibhuti didn’t listen. Then Kamalini lied that she would go to bring her medicine. A little later Kamalini came back with bread and asked Vibhuti to eat. She said, “I’ve taken the medicine, it will subside after a while. You eat this bread quickly.” Vibhuti was about to open the packet to eat, just then he saw a boy standing in front of the door and called her mother, “Madam, you’ve come without taking the medicine from our pharmacy, eat the medicine now and pay Rupees twenty-five only, your fever will go down.” Shivering with fever Kamalini said, “It’ll go down without medicine.” Vibhuti looked at his mother and at the boy; he understood his mother had no money for buying the medicine. Mother brought the bread for me with that money. He said to the boy, “Will you take this bread of mine and give the medicine to my mother?” The boy was stunned to see the mother and son. He said, “You immediately give the medicine to your mother and eat the bread.” At that moment Vibhuti took an oath in his heart for making him a real human. The boy paid the price of medicine to the owner from his pocket. Vibhuti is now established after passing the civil service exam. He has come to his old school and said, “Most of the children’s mental breakdown in childhood is due to the lack of guidance by their parents and teachers. The role of parents and teachers in making our society healthy is undeniable.”
