Flower Seller's Daughter

Her father had a rickety flower shop near the temple. Early morning he sat out to collect flowers from the depot and her mother will make an array of garlands. Her parent's daily grind was a matter of indifference for her, though she enjoyed putting flowers in her hair. She had a penchant to sit on her father's cycle and accompany him to the temple watching school-going kids along the way.

One morning while cooking hot oil accidentally spilled on her mother's hand. As a consequence was rushed to the hospital. She was left alone and hungry at home. So, she took out a small bamboo basket placed a few garlands and loose flowers, and set out to sell on the road. Suddenly it started to rain and she ran with her basket for a dry place. The quest was about to get hit by a car and fell on the road. The man came out of his car and enquired about her. She began to cry seeing her flowers scattered on the road. The man took pity on her and offered her some money which she refused. She was shivering with cold and her stomach rumbling with hunger. The man urged her to accompany him home. She couldn't think of anything and also didn't want to let go of a chance of sitting in a car hence agreed.

They arrived at his place and the man narrated everything to his wife. She offered her some biscuits and packed some clothes for her. Their daughter was showing tantrums and was not finishing her food. The girl advised her to say she did the same things as a consequence her mother had to suffer and now she was repenting. The man took her back to her house where her parents were anxiously waiting for her.
